  1. hi jacko, im out 3 /4 days a week, like the others not much doing. most of the birds are doing the all over the country in the trees on acorns. i keep looking lifted beet fields, any old stubbles. stil
  2. hi mate, been shooting ferals myself recently due to woodies not leaving the trees. most are not shot. if so they will at least double in numbers every year, great sport around farm buildings. tend to find 2nd time you shoot they get more wise to you. have a look next time you are in the town/s
  3. hi mate, used to shoot a lot of young birds from aug to nov time. last few years they have quickly left my area . some pple say they see flocks going up and down the east coast, and across the north sea. this maybe the case as i live east side of the country.
  4. hi mate, acorns the natural food for them , they leave the fields and go back to the old feeding habits when there is a glut . they in the main wont be interested in the fields again till acorns,beech,berries are finished.
  5. hi j,dog. im from the same county, seem impossible to shoot at the mo. most are on the acorns,and any old stubble with a feed left on it. lot of linseed being grown this winter not seen many birds on it yet. not so much rape go
  6. hi old un, thats a rarity a field thats been sown with clover nowadays. pigeon love it its a natural wild food they have eaten over the years. i think if you pick a good windy day you will do well there.
  7. hi guys, loads of acorns about this year, feeding on them in my area, also tons of berries about this year[sloes, elder etc] dont think birds will get on the fields until most of stubbles are worked and weather changes gets colder.
  8. gstkking@aol.com hi members, very few pigeon on the fields at the moment. trees and bushes full of food this year[even acorns about] that and the warm weather pigeon staying in the trees. lets see if they get on the rape this winter[next spring] nearly all of it didnt grow in my county this year beetle ate it.

HI GUYS SHOOT THE ROOKS MYSELF GLAD TO SEE OTHERS STILL DO IT THOUGHT I WAS ON MY OWN IN LINCOLNSHIRE.I FIND THE BEST WAY TO SHOOT ROOKS IS ON NEW DRILLING USING A FLOATER,I FIND THIS WAY I CAN SHOOT A LOT MORE ADULT BIRDS BEFORE THEY BREED. SHOT AFEW DECENT SIZE BAGS LIKE THAT ,THE MORE YOU SHOOT AND PUT OUT AS DECOYS THE MORE IT DRAWS THEM IN.
