  3. With friend at Game Fair, spoke to West Yorkshire Police, he had recently applied for shotgun licence. They said would ring him on the Monday to advise and they did. They told him would take a further 9 weeks or so due to holidays. Very polite and helpful woman. Police licence staff at Game Fairs puts faces to names and shows shooters in a better light than just a punter complaining down a phone. Seem to remember at a previous fair that North Yorkshire carried out variations on FAC and renewals on the spot.

    Rolf verdict

Have a friend who works in a prison where over 40% of the inmates are paedophiles (molest children who have not gone through puberty). The really bad ones, Category A prisoners. My friend said they are all generally nice, the friendly guy next door types, never cause him any bother. From all walks of life. At the time he had a seven year old daughter. He stated, quite calmly, if he ever caught one on the outside anywhere near his daughter he would kill him on the spot.
  5. According to BBC News a double decker was gutted by fire on the M11 at 10.00am this morning. Don't see any for ages, then along come two at once.

    AUTOMATIC GUNS

Hi, caught the tail end of a programme on Quest last night (approx. 10.45pm). Gentleman bought and sold military gear, mostly the big stuff, tanks etc. from premises in the UK. As a treat for his workers he took them out to the back of his property (big quarry) and gave them a few guns to try. From memory a:- 1 - Thompson sub machine gun 2 - 9mm Luger pistol 3 - German MP40 4 - Panzerfaust (anti tank RPG) The Thompson and MP40 seemed to be firing on full auto and the RPG was fired and blew a hole in a safe they had hanging around. Am I being gullible? Was it all faked? The guns appeared to be firing at furniture etc and empty 9mm and .45 cases were being ejected. The RPG was fired and filmed in slow motion and looked authentic. Not sure about the end explosion? Since all fully automatic rifles were made illegal (in civilian hands) in the 1920s, semi- automatic rifles in the 1980s, pistols in the 1990's and has it ever been legal to own an RPG?
  7. Not heard of Garth Brooks either but colleague said she thought he was a singer. Hope you enjoy the concert.
  8. Ah, explains why I've never heard of him. Don't watch soccer, too busy out shooting.
  9. GARTH Brooks is a singer. Who's Gareth Brooks?
  10. 'No such thing as bad publicity', especially in his line of work. Probably bring him in more fans.
  11. Commercial Manager for a label printers.
  12. If they bring their children to this country then not only will the tax payers give them child benefit, they will also pay for the child's education and health care. Far more than £80.00. I look at it this way. The foreign worker is paying tax, the tax man is repaying some of his/her tax ie giving them back some of the money they earned in the first place.
  13. Am I missing something? Where did a 'middle class boy' get a sawn off shotgun and cartridges from? Did he disclose his source to the police? And if he did not then 5 years is not long enough, never mind what he actually received.
  14. When I first came across these cartridges, back in the 70's, the wadding used was sections of Pravda Newspapers.
