  1. guess thats it then, best keep quiet, thanks to all those who said do the right thing, thanks to those that didnt, i know a few on the shoot,no run ins. shoot well.
  2. i can see that people think it may not have been shot, cos it was just laying on its back in a wood, if i had shot it whether on purpose or by accident, i would have buried it, wouldn't you? this shoot dosent take that many birds a week.
  3. thats the look my misses has on her face when she gets a load !!! nice shot bud
  4. thanks russ 91 and evil elvis (nive avatar) i know what you are saying and i totaly agree, this bird was defo shot, big hole in its chest, but no probs i like to think we are only human, i dont agree with everything thats been said but thats what a forum is all about
  5. lee-kinsman i never mentioned how close i was to the road, u know summat ? i drive into the woods in my fourtrak
  6. thanks kes et al, i'll have words, yeah we can all make mistakes, but owning up to them maketh man eh.
  7. falcon fn at last someone who sings from the same hymn sheet, not that some others havevt, but comeon guys i can tell the difference between a buzzard pigeon pheasant osprey rabbit etc, i dont think its right, thats all im saying, shoot em if you want, but not on my perm, being english its not cricket.
  8. thats my dilemma fisherman mike, do i keep quiet, or say summat, i guess from the responses i shud keep quiet, sad really.
  9. hi russ 91, i can sort of see what your're saying bud, i see that you shoot foxes ++++ which is fine by me, i dont wanna cause a fuss and i dont wanna take it further, just wanted to see what the shooting community thought of it, fair play dude, i'll take it that its the norm and leave it at that, still dont think its right, but hey thats life.
  10. wise words PWD, i dont agree that some ' shooter' should shoot a bird of prey, when i could have shot at least three of his paid for phesants, but didnt, yeah maybe im ranting and it could of been a mistake, but eyetests are cheap if they couldnt tell the difference. The wood is at least 3 miles from the nearest town, or farm.

  12. Hi all, just wanted to throw this one about to see what you lot think, i was out yesterday with the .22, just for a walk to see if anything was about, while going back to the car i noticed a flash of white in the unergrowth, some ten yards from the path. Upon investigation i noticed a dead hawk, what looked like a buzzard, it had been shot in the chest and had fresh blood about its body, now my dilemma is that the wood i shoot in has a pheasant shoot every saturday,i know that game keepers dont like buzzards around pheasants or so im told, what i dont agree with is so called sporting shooters shooting birds of prey, now before you all jump in and say your bit, i dont shoot pheasants, i dont see the point, birds bred to be shot, if thats your thing, fill ya boots, its not mine, pigeons rabbits etc no probs. my point is what do i do about it, do i say nowt or do i report it, the wood dosen't belong to my perm but he has the vermin rights for it, cos his land borders it, i dont think its right, but what do you guys think? chopper
  13. Hi Alex just found the crafty bit on the site, nice knife mate, I like the mosaic pins, I've used them once before, done well they look good, mine were 'just ok' I'm a bit critical of my own work!!! Not sure of the wood you used, nice grain though all the same, I'm at the sealing/polishing stage with the blade you sent me, I chopped up an old mantle piece I took down awhile ago, nice bit of oak with some curly burrs in it, bung me your PM and I'll ping you some pics if you like, well pleased with the blade, just need to remember to cover it before I work on it, sharp or what lol Cheers Andy (wrightchopper)
  14. Got mine cos it's my surname, wright that is, and the guys at work think I'm a chopper, if you know what one of those is, so there we have it.
