You’re all so far wide of the mark it hurts 😆

The OP needs to see a solicitor with litigation experience in this arena.

‘Cautions’ haven’t been around for over a decade and issuing part of claim (for interest only) gives rise to a whole host of problems ranging from abuse of process to estoppel. Google Henderson v Henderson.

Point taken Mungler, I’ve removed post, thanks.

This can end up being a VERY expensive route to take, though potentially you could recover your costs if you win the case and the executor doesn't declare themselves bankrupt.

Probably much less expensive would be to raise an action for "account reckoning and payment".  (That's the term for it in Scotland, in England it would be something like a "suit for an account." or "Application for Inventory and Account"

Just seen this sorry. Solware is in Tamworth and has a huge selection of everything but as said already you have mid counties blacking just out the town centre on Britannia park. Daz is excellent at anything engineering and guns . Clever ****** who has more knowledge on guns and ammo than you could ask for.

Thanks, just seen this, I’ll also try these places. Ta

Try Oakedge shooting ground too. It's over 12 months since I was there, but they had a couple of offers on cartridges.  Eastfield guns is a newish venture, Matt Morgan late of Premier Guns is running it. Again 12 months ago, I got some Hull Superfarts at Wisemans at a good price. IF you can ever get to Catton Hall at Frodsham on a Wednesday,  PM me. I will give you a phone number to contact. He shoots at Catton Hall on Wednesdays and sells cartridges.

Thanks Westley, I am not far from Oakedge and will try there for cartridges. Many years ago I bought a gun from Matt and I didn’t know that he had moved, he’s a decent bloke. As I say Westley thanks for your help.

ok, got it wrong, he goes to a clay ground at ‘The Microlight School’ about 3 miles east of Lichfield, he said they are a nice bunch of lads and will make you very welcome, they shoot every Sunday but have not been able to shoot because the river Tame burst its banks and flooded the grounds but should open shortly….https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/The+Microlight+School/@52.6781599,-1.76364,7205m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m6!3m5!1s0x487a07a7bba3ffe5:0x9aa7095af3c1eaf4!8m2!3d52.6734921!4d-1.7233533!16s%2Fg%2F1td607qf?entry=ttu

He did say the other one to look at was...https://www.blackbrookcountrysports.co.uk/

Cheers Old Un, I think I know the clay shoot you’re on about and will get over there. I need to get back into my shooting, I’ll try Oakedge next week and then the microlight school. I miss not just the shooting but the banter as well. Take care.

  5. For me, a youngish 63, I’ve noticed that as you get older you worry about the future more and savings give you a blanket feeling of security. I also know from experience how savings can be quickly eaten up by residential/care costs.

The DG and Johnson are unrelated.

The chairman (Richard Sharp) and Johnson are unrelated

Neither the DG nor the chairman lent Johnson money.

Johnsone was 'introduced to one "Sam Blyth" by the chairman (pre his appointment) who is a friend of his and also a cousin of Johnson.  He lent the money.

    https://www.itv.com/news/2023-02-12/who-is-bbc-chairman-richard-sharp-and-why-is-he-in-trouble

I don't think its been established who loaned £800k, I thought Blyth was the guarantor not the lender.

  7. There are a couple of issues here. Are you saying that it is likely her capital will go below £23,250 (capital limit) and you would be looking to social services to fund care in the future? If so, it will then centre around as to whether by gifting money away there was deliberate deprivation of capital with a view to securing local authority funding.

  8. I would advise that you put everything in writing to the DWP and keep a copy. I would also suggest contacting your local MP as well, it's surprising how quickly you get a result once you do this. Although your MP is  think is Chris Pincher, I'm not sure what's happening there at the moment.

Is it a fine or are they seeking to recover an overpayment?

  9. Get advice from a solicitor about applying for Deputyship, this is different from power of attorney. You can do some research yourself by looking at the Age Concern website and also the Office of the Public Guardian. In the end it will depend on whether or not she has capacity (mental) to make decisions.

  10. Thanks for feedback. I think for me it's worth paying the £800. When I reach retirement age it should pay itself back after a few years (assuming I don't die before) and as others have said if it's linked with triple lock increases I should benefit by the annual increases. As I see it, it's better than having £800 in a bank a/c earning very little interest.
