Not North London but would recommend Ken Rist at Lea valley (near Hertford and not far from A1M

Never been to Lea Valley on Thurs nights but know people who do - understand its friendly - might be best to give them a call or better still spaek to Ken Rist who oargainses the shoot - hes alright . Understnad your dilemma and on some of the shoots I go to you sometimes you see blokes on their own - my experience is that people are friendly and often more than willing to let peopel tag along or act as button pusher.

Agree - been a lot of posts on the 101 - search site to get feedback - lovely guns but need to know pros v cons

Many thanks for all of the helpful replies to my post - just to update I have had lessons with coach and it has helped a lot - really made my understnad why I was missing - also practice dry mounting which has helped technique and is free - stopped experimenting with chokes and cartridges - think my gun fit is okay, had it checked out. Anyway although my averages are still low circa 50% I`m feeling a lot more self confident in myself and begining to at least understand where I go wrong (although I still have glitches - wipeouts at some stands) - I really love shooting despite all the frustration and tricks on the mind it plays - as I say many thanks for advice and will update at further posts.

Reason for asking is that Sporting Targets (Risley) sell 21g under own brand name (but made by Hull) @ 21g x £140 - seem to be cheaper than 28g I'm for paying at the moment.

Hello - as a newbie (been shooting about a year) - in an attempt to save money is there any mileage in practising on clays with 21g cartridges and then switching to 28g for competitions - what are pros and cons?

Ok - so they dont have sporting (which to me is a crying shame) how can it be justified to have skeet and trap in venue which would leave no 'legacy'?

Not sure about this and do not read Clay Pigeon shooting mags - is it worth getting tickets for Olympics? - what shooting events will they have? Not seen any publicity about this and wondering whether it would be worthwhile to go along? Feedback appreciated thanks.

Fully appreciate lot of work has gone into setting up Gun Watch. I do miss the comments, replies by PW members on sales - they added a bit more interest to sales. Does'nt seem as livley as old forum
