  1. Glad you enjoyed it mate, only just started myself and now go there most Sundays with another bloke who has also just started, if you're going again and fancy meeting up then give me a shout on here, we usually get ther at around 10:00. Been practicing on the Skeet last few weeks, went today and shot a proper sequence and hit 23/25.. well happy! then went on to a few sporting in the "The Garden" and shot well, it's a great place to start.
  2. Looking at that second photo... it was already dead!!! lol...only kidding mate... great shooting.

Just gave my FEO a call and I have to send it back... ******!! Cheers Gix.
  5. Hi all, well chuffed when I got home from work today to find my SGC had arrived and I'm all ready to go and purchase my new Browning tomorrow, anyhows had a read through it and signed the box on the front, then noticed the box next to the one with my signature in it which states "Signature of Chief Officer of Police" is..............................................BLANK!!!...NO SIGNATURE....Doh!! Now what? Cheers Gix.
  6. To add he also said to take copies of any letters / forms you send to the firearms dept as sometimes things get lost / not entered and if you have a copy when the FEO nexts visits and finds a gun in your safe which isn't known to them it will help. Cheers Gix.
  7. I'm sharing my cabinet with my old man, I asked the question about what guns have to be on whose cert and he said that only my gun on my cert and visa versa for the old man, he said the info gets put on the computer and it makes the link with whoever you share the safe with. Give your FEO a call and check with him. Cheers Gix.
  8. Yes mate, and he was very helpfull.
  9. Doveridge is not far from you, £55.00 for 50 clays and all inclusive, went there myself on Sunday and really enjoyed it Cheers Gix.
  10. Doesn't have to be a Head Teacher, my was signed by an "ordinary" version....
  11. I was asking on here about what questions the FEO would ask and received some really good advice, and the best advice was to be 100% honest, my FEO was brilliant and the interview was nowhere near as deep as I was expecting, however if it had been, then everything put on my form and any answers given to questions would have been the truth. Can't see the point in making things up as you never know what they will check, if they find out you've lied you've no chance of getting your cert... don't take the risk in my opinion. Cheers Gix.
  12. Cheers chaps, just a quick update for ya....I did post another thread but not on this one so here goes.... I was interviewed last Thursday and all went well, he didn't want a cuppa or a biccy (and I had layed some really good uns on a plate for him ) Anyway he had a swift look at my gun safe which I had already bolted to the wall and he was well happy with that (didn't tug at it or anything) he then went through the paperwork and how to inform them of gun sale/purchase etc and told me the cert will take about 2 weeks to arrive. Really nice chap, said I was right to fill out all my driving convictions etc but nothing would cause any probs and off he went with a shake of the hand... now I'm on the look out for me new gun, I have booked myself in at Doveridge on Sunday for a lesson and some advice on gun fitment etc, thinking of getting a Browning 525 sporter (as advised by some you nice fella's) so will try and get a go with one to make sure it suits me.... if it does it's then a case of trying to get the best price!! Cheers again all, Gix
  13. Can anyone tell me about a Browning GTS and their opinion on it? Gix.
  14. Cheers ST3V3, will do mate, I lived at melbourne for a short while a good few years back. Thanks again Gix.
  15. Cheers chaps. Daz, Thanks, for the shop suggestions I'll go take a look when I have my cert..East Midland Shooting Ground is just up the road from me and I will be going there once I'm sorted with a gun, a mate has also said he will take me along and show me the ropes. Cheers Gix.
