  1. Perhaps Big Dave decided that he didn,t like them after all.
  2. We guessed you had been on holiday. "Menorca", "cocktails on the beach" and you are trying to kid us that you actually thought about "woodies" ?? IF you mean woodpigeons, I don,t believe you.!!!!
  3. William, I am interested that you think the UK has some of the best shooting in the world. If we ignore "big game", why do you think this ?
  4. Before Rape came along I would have said peas. I have had some brilliant days on laid, ripe wheat, but other years the pigeon have seemed to ignore laid cereals. Rape has given us a very flexible crop that is around (in some form or another) all the year. Thats why its my number one.
  5. What do you consider the best crop for shooting pigeons over and why ?

    Overseas ?

Has anyone ever shot overseas (not including Ireland), either with their own gun or a borrowed weapon ?
  7. Hi Ian, I have contacted the BASC and they don,t have a list of Pigeon Guides. The July Sporting Gun arrived this morning. There is one advert in there for G.I. Country Sports UK, but no location is mentioned. The contact numbers are Gary 07980 071192 and Iain 07980 071179. If you fancy combining your pigeon shooting with a short break, then Martin who posts on this forum guides for both pigeon and wildfowling. If you check out his posts, you will see his website. Hopefully, some more info will be forthcoming. Getting your own shooting is the best idea, as Craigie said. This isn,t always easy. Have you spoken to any of the guns where you clay shoot ? Its suprising how many of them shoot "real" pigeons.

    England

Steve, I don,t want to start an argument, but to explain my comment. You wrote "They,ll whinge for a week or two about being beat, but imagine if they,d won !" I agree, there shouldn,t be any "them" and "us" on this Forum.

    England

The best team won and their experience showed. Who is Darius Vassell ? Steve, I forget at what stage Northern Ireland got knocked out, perhaps you can remind us (or is it "them").
  10. number 1, what sort of gun do you have ? Has it been made with "open" chokes ,or do you have a multichoke and choose to have "open" chokes ? A friend of mine shoots very successfully with Imp Cyl. He doesn,t attempt many long range shots though.

    Laid barley

Is the barley still green Deako, it seems a bit early. Nuffink ain,t showing interest in nuffink, round ere. I think Dead-eye-**** must be on holiday. It would be interesting to hear if he has many birds on his farms, they are near my area.
  12. Malc, sounds good, but be careful to compare prices. Some of their stuff is a bit pricey. An alternative Supplier for flock covered decoys has been posted on here. Personally, I prefer them to the Magnet version and there was quite a price difference. Just my 2p worth.
  13. Thats why they need all those shots.
  14. Be assertive, get a shotgun !!! :( Only joking , you Airgunners. :(
  15. Nice one William, :D Thats not me, thats the wife (notice lipstick), do you still think lazza will want to run away with her ?
  16. I respect the opinions, especially from the professionals. As I shoot pigeons mostly from a hide, my gun is inside the hide and unseen for most of the time.( on bad days, all the time). When I poke it out of the hide , its to fire a shot and make much more disturbance, than the glint of light on my barrels would. I can understand the protection from the elements, salt, mud etc, mostly encountered when wildfowling, but that could be covered with a removable protection. I am not convinced they are necessary, for pigeon shooting from a hide. Its good that we are all different, ain,t it.
  17. Deako, It was a big parcel of filters, as we have an extension in every other room. I am in the third room from the left, on the first floor typing this ,right now.
  18. That is probably an awseome wildfowling weapon with those chokes. I knew a chap who shot an old Charles Boswell 30" sbs choked full and threequarter on a high bird pheasant shoot. He hit "impossible" birds. On walked-up days he used a different gun. He said that if he didn,t, every thing he shot got "casserolled". lazza, the fact that he misses at 25 yards with such tight choking, could give you a another answer to your "pigeons from behind" problem.
  19. lazza, what choke(s) was the long range shooter using ? I,ve already guessed his cartridge type..............Alphamax 3" BB.
  20. When you sign up with Freeserve Broadband online, they check your post code to ensure that your area telephone service is able to accept Broadband. If it isn,t , then obviously they don,t proceed. Fortunately, mine was OK. Please excuse me for 5 seconds............I am just going to download War & Peace. Back again, that didn,t take as long as I thought. :(
  21. I got the Freeserve version. All the kit arrived OK, you have to put a "filter" in each telephone extension in the house, this also means that you can use your computer from every extension. I loaded the CD last night and have been enjoying the benefit since. Previously my "bps" was 48,000 to 50,000, on busy nights it fell to 46,666. Now its 576,000. Basically, everything is 11+ times faster. Downloads, uploads, surfing, its all easier and FAST. At less than £10 per week ,I think its good value, if you use your computer a few hours a day. Strongly recommended.
  22. Those pictures were genuinely taken with a Kodak Disposable.........by my wife. :( The best one is the sunrise, she took about 6/7 pixs before she was happy. There is no doubt that quality cameras give the best results. I have no intention of posting the crappy pictures, taken with a Kodak Disposable. :(
