  1. Thanks for the replys fellas. Had a think an I'm going to get one an if i have to change my scope then so be it! Once again, thanks.
  2. Hi all. I am thinking of getting myself a Archer NV and I'd like your input as to what scope you use it with. At the moment i have a Meopta Meostar R1r sat on my 223 which i think is pretty mustard, IMHO, but Its not parralax adjustable. I am trying different filters on my lamp for the shy foxes but the fox I'm really after has bolted to everything colour i have used so far, without a call from me. I'v thought about starting off using the Archer as a spotting scope and trying to get fox close in, to bait and shotgun combo? I'd really like it on the rifle but don't want a lesser day scope just so i can use the Archer. Am i right, wrong or a complete plonker? Your thoughts please but not too harsh, cheers.
  3. www.moneysavingexpert.com Have a look what this fella has on pensions.
  4. Went to stock up before i renew my ticket but the shop didn't have what i normally use so i thought I'd give these a go. At £14 per 20 they're a lot cheaper than my usual Hornadys. I know it'll all depend on how the gun gets on with them, it hates Federals, but at that price! Anyone used them, good or bad? Cheers, Clumber.
  5. The Art of Gunsmithing by Lewis Potter. If you like to know how things work and repair methods then this is a good book to start with. As above, buy a cheap gun then it wont hurt if it goes wrong.
  6. Starlight NV in Manchester may help. They make the archer & longbow NVs. Telephone : (+44) 01942 884378; 01942 876790. www.starlightnv.co.uk
  7. I've a game model with 30'' tubes. Found it muzzle heavy at first, having gone from a 28'' sporter, so put a few strips of lead in the stock so now it balances on the hinge pin. Quite surprised how much was taken out of the stock, maybe if they left more in it would of been better balanced As others have said, I've oiled the stock as well, looked awful after a soaking. All in all very pleased with it.
  8. have and use them regular. right handed but load with left hand so have belt loop to loop around left side of waist so no marking of stock.
  9. shoot vermim/pest control for local farms - payment a few days lambing/shearing and feeding in winter. a few clays, and a gun on a DIY for pheasants.
