Buy the best you can afford, the only problem with lithium batterys is they just turn of when flat,no like the original batterys that give you warning when the lamps starts diming, lost a couple of foxes recently with the lithium just turning off before i took the shot.

Dont bother with the mod cover, the only thing that i found works is the sun shade on the scope, just trying to save you money, done the mod cover and you still get glare.

sethb replied to Salop Matt's topic in Stalking & Game Shooting
I was told recently of a muntjac that had been run over in the lancashire area,at a guess in ten years they will be a common site this far up. -
Everything they make is a top class product,i have a set of scope rings on my 243.
-
why not go down the custom rifle build road, you could pick your stock of choice, barrel and action, just done the same with uk gunworks, shoots a dream.

Thanks for the info, did you inport yours steve, only that you said it had coyote calls on it,when i spoke to bushwear about the caller today i asked would all the calls be native,ie fox,fox cub, rabbit and the reply was yes,but like you said you can upload your own calls of choice.

Thinking of buying a fox pro caller from bushwear, the caller is not cheap,so was just wondering if anyone out there has one that could give me there views on how it performs, before i spend the £200,

Try the 75 grain v max normas, found them to be a very good round in my 243. -
Been using an archer grade c for the last year, good bit of kit,it all depends if you want a dedicated unit or one you can attach.
-
Nice write up,well done.

Some big estates i know of run air lines into there lakes, the bubbles forming on the surface stop the lake freezing over, but an expensive option.

Lancs Firearms Office got quite slow?
sethb replied to Frenchieboy's topic in General Shooting Matters
It took my mate three weeks with lancs feo for a 243 variation this year. -
starlight archer will do everything you need, grade d will match your price range, they also work very well as a spotting scope or scope mounted,i have a grade c and it works a treat.
-
I bought one from blackpool air rifles a couple of years ago, maybe worth a try.
-
looks good, what grain of bullet are you using in your home loads?

"Dispatching" Charlie in a Cage trap!
sethb replied to Frenchieboy's topic in Sporting Shooting Videos
If you rung lancashire feo tomorow and asked can you shoot fox with a 17 hmr the answer would be no,i know from havin the conversation. -

sethb replied to Frenchieboy's topic in Sporting Shooting Videos
The only thing i would worry about for frenchie is that if he lives in bacup like his forum says, I think (I may be wrong).. he would come under lancashire feo, who do not grant 17hmr for fox control.
