  3. Borrowed a mates falcon pcp. This gun is great!! used to have an air rifle 15yrs ago, it was a titan JB1 . the manageing director of titan used to live in the same village as me, so i got a good deal on it with a few trick modifications. At the time i thought this gun was the dogs whatsit's .It probably was at the time. But me mates falcon well what can i say.Going to have to do some overtime.I'm converted!!! all the best
  4. Stockings hold ups yea gods next u'll be on about jodphurs rideing boots and whips........ gotta go
  5. ok here goes. are all actions, stocks, barrels etc standard with in a range? and you just pay for the finish ? if so why don't gun makers do a plain gun ie no engraving no lovely deep walnut stock. This would make the sport more accessable. therefore driving gun prices down, and not so much "anti" type resistance. i.e. "been fishing have you" "been shooting have 2you ? all the best

  7. Today whilest drilling a field with wheat i noticed lots of partridge running across the field. As i always take me gun with me i thought i have a shot.So i stopped the tractor, got out loaded the gun aimed fired (please note this was not a sporting shot as they were on the ground)and to my compleat amazement there were two brace of partridge layed on the field 2 were stone cold and the other 2 were despached via the neck stretch . but they were grounded and could not fly. Please feel free to flame . I do understand this will never ever happen in my lifetime again. But i had to tell somebody. all the best Yorkshire Pudding with Partridge :(
  8. Sorry as they say "resistance is futile???spelin" but the best tip i've had is if in doubt don't pull the trigger and wait an "easyer" "better" bird will always show!!! not only do'es this tip work for vermin but......... all the best
  9. mmm tips i've had a few but the best i think is this:- Manchester United fans. Save money on expensive new kits by simply strapping a large fake ##### to your forehead. Your allegiance is now clear to all. hehe come on the whites
  10. Seeing as you enjoyed the hosepipe tip so much i have a couple more for ya..... Vegetarians coming to dinner?Simply serve them a nice bit of veal, steak or pigeon.Since they are always going on how Quron,Tofu or meat substitute etc "tastes exactly like the real thing", they wont know the difference. A mouse trap placed on top of your alarm clock will prevent you rolling over and going back to sleep. all the best
  11. Colombus You gave me a tip about shouldering me gun in the mirror. Top tip mate it is working a treat as i'm bringing food home Got a tip for u fella. Cut down on water bills by having a water meter fitted to your house. Then run a hosepipe from your nextdoor neighbours out side tap to your house . cheers

The hangover lasted about 3/4 of an hour as a "massive flying dinner" of Canada geese came over the field i was working in .(the farm has a lagoon, where we used to pump the pig **** . when we had pigs) the geese sort of turned round and started to land.Got the beer outta my eyes....And christmas dinner is sorted.bagged a pair. jim

  15. Thanks for the tips here fella's.As it was raining today i took the afternoon off work and visited my local friendly gun dealer, after a brief chat about my dodgy right eye he convinced me to buy the only lefted handed gun he had in his shop.  I also made sure he would give me a good price for the gun if i just could'nt manage to master l/h shooting. So i have become the newest convert to shooting kak handed. all the best jim
  16. Read this topic with great intrest. As i now have got my shotgun licence, and am currently useing a mates gun. My worry is this i am right handed mount the gun to my right shoulder, but my right eye is bad very bad (i know i'm not supposed to swear so please feel free to put your own rude words in). i do wear glasses to correct my vision(think mr magoo) after a suffered a detached retena a while ago my site in my right eye got worse. So as such i shoot with my left eye closed. Is it possible to teach myself to shoot left handed, and for it to feel semi-natural? jim

  21. Thank's gents. William i am going to my local gunshop at the weekend if we have not started to harvesting.I figured i would ask advice from the "board" as the guy in the shop although undoubtedly will be very helpful, he is still a "salesman" who has to earn a crust. Thank's once again and i'll let you know how i get on.
  22. ey-up i'm new to this forum, and would like some information from you "old hands". i'm looking to buy my first gun and i would like some advice on what i should be looking for. I will mainly be shooting Pigeons pheasant partridge. As i work on a farm and the farmer has given me permission to shoot over his land thanks for any advice you see fit to give me oh and i say sorry now for all the "stupid" questions i will no doubt have to ask in the future. cheers Yorkshire pudding
