  1. I they are cedar they wont need anything (check though cos they could be cheapos made from ply) the reason beehives are made from cedar is that it doesn't need any preservative and so there's no risk of harming the bees.
  2. I have a 4 gun deep rifle cabinet with locking top for sale its a JFC GB4LT they retail at £174 both sets of keys dimensions are 1500x450x280mm Open to sensible offers
  3. blimey that .308 got him up in the air didnt it
  4. I have a clearview net that is high enough that I have to stand to shoot over, and have a traditional net on the outside of that so I can see through the clearview and overthe traditional net whern Im sitting and then I stand up to shoot them....but I sometimes just stand up anyway because through the clearview net flys look like pigeons and I get excited
  5. fair play, hadnt thought about it that way
  6. Slightly off topic but I have some pretty wide ones where I shoot but during the summer if I put veil and everything on I can get away with just a low seat and sitting still not Ideal for decoying but perfect for flighting and v. mobile
  7. thats interesting, I have stuck a bit of ptfe tape round the grommet and it seems ok ... havent tried it yet though....thanks for that though AD atb Ratty
  8. Thanks for the advice, I also gave them a ring and they said to put some tape around the grommet so it would grip better. Im going to do a bit of experimentation later Atb
  9. Morning all, was wondering if any of you lot have one of the flappers made by A1 decoys that fit onto a bouncer, se I bought one and Every time I stick a pigeon on it and turn it on the weight of the bird makes it turn upside down. It is the extending bit on the bouncer that turns, but I cant seem to sort it out by tightening the ring on the bouncer (hope that makes sense) Have any of you got one of these and have had similar problems...any award winning solutions out there? atb Ratty
  10. price? Sorry thought I was looking at the for sale section
  11. Semis are good because you have the light recoil and you will get into good habits with cleaning, but some people get snotty about semis pinging cartridges everywhere (especially if you ever do DTL), another thing to bear in ming with a semi is that you have an extra 4" of reciever on the end of the barrel so a 28" barrel will feel more like a 32". Overall a semi will be fine as long as you can manage a bit of micky taking and bad looks from scorers that have had emptys flung at them while you shoot, also you wont be able to shoot pheasents and stuff with it if you get the chance, other then that a semi is fine Hope that helps Atb Ratty
