  1. Same as previous, I use them in 20gauge and my prefered cartridge.
  2. I use Gamebore Gold 5's in 30grams for game shooting and Hull 6's in 28grams for pigeons, crows and rabbits (only because I had a spare slab left over from a previous season). Dont notice any differance in recoil between the two. For pest control you dont need to go higher than 28 grams and size 6 shot, I've had exceptional kill rates on 7.5 size shot in the past.
  3. Difficult to pint point one specific reason. He seemed to do a lot of talking about himself and not a lot if coaching. Guess we just expecting something different.
  4. We have an Irish Terrier, which we got when she was 5 months old (about a year ago). When we got her we took her to obedience training and she did really well. She knows how to sit, stay and comes back to the whistle - well she does for me and not so much for my wife. After a couple of issues over the past 2 months (caught her on the kitchen counter twice in the past fortnight, not returning to call and being a general **** to other dogs it appears that my wife have had enough. D'Arcy (aka the dog) is a lot more obedient when I am around (I walk her before work and wife walks her during the day and at night) Can someone please recommend be a decent dog trainer that will be able to focus on obedience training or I'll have to unwillingly rehome our dog. D'Arcy goes shooting with me and although she only ever completed one retrieve I enjoy her company on and off the field. All recommendations will be much appreciated. Thanks Q
  5. I've always used 1/2 and 1/4 in mine, although that said i used 1/4 and 1/4 the other day during a roost shoot and it worked just as well.
  6. I bought a Beretta 687 20 gauge at the beginning of last season and shot it throughout the season. I did seem to miss in front on the first two shoots, but since then my kill ratio has improved compared to when i shot with my 687 in 12gauge. IMHO a 20g is better balanced than any lightweight 12g and i've not notice any difference in recoil. (I shot gamebore 30g 5's at end of season and 28g 6's at the beginning). Clay cartridges are bit more expensive, but game carts about the same.
  7. I have for sale 3 number Teague Extendable Chockes for Beretta in 20 gauge. There are 2 x 1/4 (I Cyl) and 1 x 1/2 (Mod). I've only used them once and shot approximately 50 carts through them. They are in 'as new' condition. £75 for the three (including P&P) Any queries let me know. Cheers Q
  8. The below link provides a table with indicative forward allowances (section 7) http://guninfo.co.uk/shotgun_cartridges.htm I also find it helps me to focus on the birds beak or head and not the body when following through with my shot.
  9. Both my guns are choked at 1/4 & 1/2 (both fixed and multi chokes). I do however fire my top barrel (1/4 choke) first as I find it quicker to reload top barrel on my o/u. I shoot a 20 gauge most of the time so recoil not an issue.
  10. I use sonic earplugs, cost aprox £10 and you can still hear people talking, the trap go off and bird song.
  11. I use Hull High Pheasant Extreme 28g in 6's, initial findings have been good.
