  1. Hi all, I'm coming down to Dittisham on the Dart for a couple of weeks this summer and was wondering if anyone has ever done much fishing there? I've heard you can get a few flatties and ray in the river (any bass that far up?), and I'll have access to a boat, anyone know any good marks in that area? I'm also hoping to have a go at the sewin or salmon further upriver on the Dart AA water (heard you can get day tickets) but have absolutely no idea if there's likely to be a run of fish? Anyone heard if anything's doing of late? Cheers IAS
  2. Hi wb, haven't been out for ages but had 3 days out this week with the badgerman, got 27, 22 and 32 over rape stubble. Total = 81
  3. Strutt and Parker are a big one, probably something around that area. IAS
  4. Yep, but gerrard and lampard are the key boys, if they play for england as they can for their clubs we're definitely in with a good shout. IAS
  5. Though I've only been going for a few years, the decoying has usually stopped from when the rape is too high to julyish. I have only got a small amount of clover to shoot over but I haven't ever tried decoying over it, maybe have a go this year, though there is a superb island of trees in the middle of some very large fields that usually draws pigeons in from every direction, so will usually get in there for a couple of hours every now and then. 6. Cos there's never owt in it Too true hawkeye, too true!
  7. I'm not usually picky about these sorts of things, but you never know it might be decided on a grammatical error...anyway, immigration is when someone moves into your domestic country, emigration is when someone moves out of it. So if and when you move to US/CAN you will be emigrating there, and dealing with their immigration policy. Only mention it because it might be put on forms and stuff, might not look too good if you get it the wrong way round. IAS
  8. Hey how come they didn't take my wallet?
  9. MILTON KEYNES, and the endless supply of ROUNDABOUTS! More specifically the National Express X5 bus that recognises this, and so with a satanic smile, the driver spends two lifetimes exploring every ****** one. I'm not a violent man but at the end of that journey I could go 10 rounds with Tyson, to say it makes me ANGRY is an understatement of titanic proportions. IAS
  10. Mushrooms, I absolutely ***** hate the things. I love fruit and veg, don't get me wrong, and I do keep trying them but they are horrible, I'd lock em in room 101 for the rest of eternity. I'm sure I'll think of something else, but this comes high on the list. IAS

Crikey, what a load of pandemonium. Come on guys lets get this in perspective. What happens when you open the front page of a shooting magazine? There are pictures, names, contact details, and photos of us normal hunting fishing shooting folk in the midst of enjoying whatever country pastime is in the magazine feature. Are the magazines taken offprint because of anti's harrassment? Nope, will they be? Not a chance. We are different to a magazine only insofar as there is more anonymity protecting us. What does that mean? Stop worrying about being watched!! If they want to watch, they can, they can't 'get to us', nor will they be able to turn the tide of public opinion against us because of a few photos or forum topics. The only result will be the same old anti's telling each other, again, how evil we are and how could we do that bla bla, all the rest of that hypocritical incoherent emotive ****. Do I care if they get a bit more worked up? B*****s do I! Let's not give them the satisfaction eh boys (or girls) a defiant IAS
  12. I was thinking exactly the same things. Sorry to here about it though foxer. IAS
  13. My dad has a rod on a syndicate on the lark in suffolk, its a beautiful strectch of river and though all the fish are stocked and released into the river, it still makes for a different fishing experience and a fantastic way to spend an evening or morning. There's something hypnotic about river fishing, i don't think many things can beat it. I've not been out at all on the river this year (exams looming) but my dad had a good day not so long ago, had quite a few of a decent size on an evening hatch, a small green buzzer was the deadly fly! IAS
  14. Nevermind speed cameras eh cranfield, back in the day you had to cope with that boy waving the red flag in front of you, must have been a right pain in the backside! :yp:
  15. Sounds like it was meant to be mung, the farmer whose land i shoot did it with the back end of a bedford van, chopped the front off and welded tow hitch onto it. Originally it was going to have another side cut out of it and a strut to keep it level (as in old trailer jockey wheel) then a quick spray green. Then just tow it out with the quad to wherever the days sport is going to be, throw the netting over the side with the gap in it and wait for the birds to come. Unfortunately it only got half done, but I'm quite good friends with the farmer having worked on his farm last summer so was going to volunteer my services to get the job finished! Keep me posted with how you get on :yp: IAS
  16. Same goes for beans, farmer won't be happy if you wading through ripe crops where the seed pods easily burst! Kirky, rape down my way is definitely at least a month earlier than yours, well it was last year anyway. IAS
  17. It was sad, always like to see the underdog win , but on the other hand did anyone see the liverpool west ham game? Possibly one of the best games I've ever seen. I'm emotionally drained, and I don't support either of them!
  18. Frank thats another good session, but where's all the meat going! Hope you've got a big freezer or failing that 10 children!! Great shooting! IAS
  19. I thought it was a pretty good thread, lets face it we've all been there, and all I'll say is I never go pigeon shooting without bog roll or at the least a newpaper.
  20. ''funny coincidence, when i shot my 50 i had a rookie with me, i let him put the decoys out that day and allowed him to be master tactician ever since, but owing to recent pigeon catches, i may well have to take over the reigns once more, its a shame, he showed a promising start, but hasn't been able to bring them in since, obviously just got lucky on that day!''
  21. Job well done in my book! There's loads of them near where I live and they are constantly outside this building babbling incoherently through a megaphone. Morons.
  22. did you get them all on your own? I had someone else in the hide with me but I was just showing him the ropes, he did manage to get a few though, bless him.
  23. 51 woodies and a couple of crows shot over bean stubble last summer. Followed that with another sizeable bag in the same spot a week later. Glorious sunshine and birds coming in all day, looking forward to shooting over stubbles again!!
  24. I think you have missed the point. By benefits we mean handouts to imigrants. That's where England is a soft touch, If the benefit system for asylum seekers was better in france the imigrants wouldn't risk their lives trying to croos the channel. Cheers Martin Not all immigrants are vagrants who do nothing except leach off the system. True, the media portray this to be the case, however, most do an incredibly important job in supplying unskilled labour for the many jobs that no-one else wants to do. Fact of the matter is that Britain has the flexible labour laws to ensure employment is high, this is what is attractive to prospective immigrants - they can get jobs!!. The ones who leach off the system are home grown!! Far too much pessimism about the British economy, yes B. Liar has made a mess of the countryside and Brown has played his part in re-regulating some industries, but at the end of the day we are no where near that creek that the rest of Europe find themselves in.
