  1. Where did you get the stainless steel mesh from? I would like to make something similar for my boiler to act as a hop and trub strainer.
  2. I only brew to my own recipies, currently I have a dark bitter 1050 brew conditioning, I am drinking a 1040 bitter and have plans for another brew but it is dependant on what hops and malt I have available. It will probably be a "throw all the malt remnants into the mashtun and see wort it comes out like" excuse the pun!! I only use liquid yeasts and that will make a huge difference to the final product. I only have one vile in stock at the moment and that is a White Labs dry English ale yeast - just have to wait and see what happens. I am looking forward to it.
  3. I have all grain brewing for some time only using a mastun and boiler, I would have a hot liquer tank if I fly sparged but as i batch sparge it is not required. Here is some of the finished product Irish Stout. and some bitter The system is made from normal sized beer kegs which means that I can brew 40 liters at a push but as i use cornie kegs I stick to 25 litres. This picture shows the heat exchanger cooling coils (It had just been made at this point so is very dirty) These get attached to the hose, it is very efficient. The final mod was the addition of a hop and trub strainer for the boiler
  4. I would recommend the Graham Wheeler book, I am an all grain brewer and there are a lot of recipies on the Brewuk website http://www.brewuk.co.uk Brewing beer from scratch can be very rewarding, also the finished product can be better than beer bought in a pub. If you do start brewing I would reccomend that you use live liquid yeasts such as white labs or Wyeast. Using these yeasts will give you a far superior beer over using dry sachet yeast. Hope you have fun.

  15. Hi Would you be interested in doing a deal with my Discovery Td5 which is advertised on this forum?
  16. sold sold sold I am selling my Disco Td5 ES Auto registered in 2000. It has a full years MOT and 12 months tax. It has covered 112000 miles. I really want either a 90 or 110 Defender so I am willing to do a part exchange or a straight sale for £2950 or near offer. The vehicle is located in north Kent about 10 miles from the Dartford tunnel. Please pm me with any questions.
  17. Because untill you have had one you do not know what they are like, seems pretty obviouse to me, and this is the first auto that I have had. All my other land rovers have been manual. I go out lamping 3 or 4 times a week and thought an automatic would be an ideal vehicle. Seems I was wrong, it probably is but does not suit me. So as a consequence I am going to swop it for a defender. I hope this answers your question, as a matter of interest are all your 2259 posts as obtuse or inane as this one? Mark
  18. Hi folks I have a 2000 Land Rover Discovery Td5 ES with 109000 miles on the clock, alloy wheels, cruise control etc, etc, I would like to swop it for a Land Rover Defender 90 or 110. The reason for the swop is that this vehicle is an automatic and I do not like automatics. Vehicle located 10 miles from the Dartford crossing. PM me if interested. Cheers Mark
