  3. Model similar to yours Samon - 143L. Sent the chap (Roy) an email on Friday morning. He replied almost straight away. Paypal'd him around lunchtime and he's posting it tomorrow morning recorded delivery. Can't fault that kind of service. I'm at work (London) all week, but will pick it up on Saturday morning. Will report back. LS
  4. Was always recommended silver birch bark. It's papery qualities make it ideal, but it should be kept dry. LS

Yes, so much for "pocket" guide - but I don't think the pocket has been built yet to take the 56 pages of printed A4... LS
  10. If one was to bid and win, are there any import restrictions or duties on knives? Just curious, LS
  11. My noble friend  , It's no help to your lordship right now I know but there are parts plans at http://www.chambersgunmakers.co.uk for most models (except Logun, for the time being). Just in case anyone else saw the thread title and was wondering. Best of luck with your search. Regards, LS

    hi

    Welcome Robinhood. LS
  15. :*) I'm glad it wasn't just me! I too have a zipless PVC jacket from Ebay (Camo-supply or something?) that is taking up room in the bottom of the wardrobe. I haven't even taken the tags off! Not only does it rustle, the press studs rattle and it reeks to high heaven of plastic. Twenty notes and absolutely useless. Won't make that mistake again. LS
  16. How do they do that then? LS
  17. Off-topic but on-thread - the Olive Branch is no longer. I remember a particularly, erm, 'important' evening there when I was a chorister at the cathedral in the summer of 1996... I've been back recently on official business and it looks like some cafe type thing. I had to make do with the Thomas a Beckett. Ah, great days. LS
  18. Couldn't have said it better LB, good old Mr. Popudopulopudis! hic! LS
  19. 48 Merry Christmas and bulging bags to all... LS
  20. Fair dos. Nevertheless, a Merry Christmas to all. Regards, LS
  21. Lads, lovely lads, Are we on or off for tomorrow night? I now have a Sunday morning appointment that I need to make a decision about. Regards, LS
  22. I too have an HW97K in .20 calibre. There is a fractional dip with the heavier pellets (Penetrators) but with my usual choice (H&N FTTs) it's very forgiving if I haven't judged the range entirely correctly. I would definitely recommend it. Regards, LS
  23. Sainsbury's are doing 2 for £2 on their own brand fresh soups. Now, since you can't get a sandwich for less than a fiver round here I thought that was a good idea. I'm just in the middle of their vegetable chilli soup, which is so scrummy I'm still eating it even though it's just come out of the microwave and is probably doing permanent damage to my lips. This stuff was designed to be poured from a flask on a foggy evening in the field. Delicious. Anyone else got a favourite? Regards, LS (I don't work for Sainsbury's )
