  1. Minsterley have their own stalking on their own land, apparently it's pretty good, my mate has been up there a few times I think.
  2. That'll be the worst punishment for them... pub prices!
  3. Pumps are best suited to movie sets in Hollywood (no cars don't always explode if you shoot one with a pump). For actual proper shooting the semi is far better as they are easier to aim and then keep on target, and also faster to get the rounds off than a pump. Thats my two bob's worth anyway.
  4. Not sure about "lugs" but from what I know the American refers to stock shape/finish and the Varmint refers to the heavier barrel model.
  5. I just bought a new 3" Escort 12g. Mine shoots and cycles 28g and 32g no problem. As someone said, you could run 32's in it as they often improve with use, or return it under warranty. I can't comment on the chokes as I'm still "re-learning" to shoot with it at the moment! One thing about mine is that when you load the first shell in at the side and close the breech, you DO need to let it slam home by pressing the button at the side, as opposed to closing it gently using your finger as a brake. If you only allow it to close gently then it just goes click when you pull the trigger! If you let it slam shut it fires every time, first time. Certainly no grumbles about mine so far, it's a good gun for £300 new. Just have to go through the re-learning curve of shooting it now.
  6. Welcome to the club BobCat! Very sweet rifle mate. Don't really have much air rifle experience, only just bought one for myself (HW77), but I know what I like, and I like yours a lot! One condition of coming on here is you always have to have a camera with you from now on when you go out shooting! It's da rules!
  7. I'm liking the flutted barrel on that rifle Miffy! Very nice. I wish my .25-06 T3 had that. It would stop it overheating so quickly when I'm practicing at the range! My accuracy needs all the help it can get!
  8. 15 years old.... 200 rounds? Did the poor previous owner pass away 2 months after he bought the rifle? 200 sounds a bit light to me? Assuming the info is correct though, I'd go with the Steyr, and I own a T3 myself. Nice gun, but I never had the readies for a Steyr, so never entered the equation for me.
  9. Cheers LG Can you get 'em re-charged at your local gun shop? I have no recharging equipment myself as I've never had an air rifle. What do they charge for the service?
  10. Don't know jack about air rifles. Anyone know how many decent shots one could expect out of a fully charged 12ft/lb Falcon 19n in .22?
  11. There is panic in Heaven, because God has gone missing. The Archangels are despatched to all corners in order to find Him and, at last, Gabriel finds Him sitting in an out of the way place, head in hands, gazing lovingly into the Great Void. "Lord!" says Gabriel, "Where have you been, we were all so worried about you when you didn't turn up for the darts match the other night!" "Not to worry," says God. "I'm fine." "What have You been doing, Lord?" "I've been creating," says God proudly. "Look!" Gabriel stares out into the Void and sees a blue and white and green ball spinning in the blackness. "Very nice. What is it?" "It's a planet," says God, "and it's called Earth." "What does it do?" "It's about balance," says God. "Look. See this bit here? That's Europe. Northern Europe is cold, rather austere, but industrious and wealthy. Southern Europe is much warmer and jollier, but much poorer. Balance, see?" "I think so..." "Another for instance...that bit over there is Asia, which will be home to great traditions of philosophy, spirituality and art. It's in balance with Europe, to a large extent, but in between is what I call a hot spot, the Middle East. This is also going to be a centre of great spiritual traditions, but also an area where poverty and great wealth go cheek by jowl. And it will be an area of great turmoil between different peoples. Balance, you see." "Yes," says Gabriel, "I think I'm getting it." God explains more about his creation, how North and South America are in balance with each other, again with a hot spot between them to act as a fulcrum. After a while, Gabriel points to one small spot on the globe and asks: "What's that bit called?" "Ah!" says God, His face glowing with paternal pride. "That is the jewel in the crown, the finest part of My creation. It's called Scotland." "What makes it the best bit?" asks Gabriel. "Such natural beauty...noble mountains with eagles soaring in the clear air, gorgeous glens with beautiful rivers and streams, crystal sea lochs full of shimmering silver herring...and the people, they will be honourable and brave, poets and writers, explorers, adventurers, brave warriors, engineers, men and women of medicine and science...and wherever they go throughout the world, they will be admired for their qualities..." "Hang on," says Gabriel, "I don't get it. If Earth is all about balance, there's something missing here. How can Scotland be so perfect and still have balance?" "Aye," says God, "Nae bother...wait 'til ye see the bas*ards I've put next tae 'em" :o
  12. Fister should be in the Diplomatic Service.
  13. I guessed that and i'm not having a dig.. i just think that the bolt should be open at ALL times unless you are ready to shoot. The rifle would have to be treated as if it were loaded as the bolt is closed. Enjoy Blimey! Someones been eating the DSC training book for breakfast, lunch and dinner haven't they? BUT.... you are right, there's no getting away from it.
  14. Good web page. I just need to get me one of those Andalusian cave homes now.
