Hello Just to update you all. I had a quiet word with the people driving round the field shooting also the farmer who is only a contractor with no authority on the land. In the end they saw it my way and the driving around the field has now stopped. I quoted what pushandpull wrote, It is an offence under the WCA section 5,(1),(e) to use a mechanically propelled vehicle in immediate pursuit of a wild bird to kill or take it. It will be a gentle persuasive words with both idiots in vehicle and the farmer who is only a contractor not a tenant,with no rights whats so ever. who has told these in the vehicle to go and shoot. A warning of armed trespass will also be mentioned. Then i swallow pride and inform police.(very last option) dont think it will come to that.

sorry i dont grass Ive had good response from this site. I think a friendly word in there ears and advise them of what push & pull has said,try that first then the police if they are that thick they dont take the advise. Do yo think thats ok? This is what i dont want.

its ok saying call the police,have you ever been involved with the police regarding firearms investigation every one gets put under the cosh. Have they actually committed an offence?

Don`t want police involved,starts getting naughty for everyone then. Farmers and land owners are getting wise to them.

Not having ago about people with health problems or people who are at work. On about people who try and cause trouble with other shooters and only come out in the sun. You dont know these shooters, police were called to them,one land owners daughter told them to leave the land because they were shooting and frighting the horse and they told her they would be back later shooting. She replied yes the police will be waiting for you as well.

We shoot all vermin all the year round. Am i right by saying wood pigeons are not vermin we shoot them to protect crops These shooters are summer time shooters, when its dry warm and try and spoil the shooting of other people. These shooters in the vehicle by all accounts have been asked to leave the land on a few farms around this area, danger to stock and horses and riders.

The farmer is a contractor he isn't the actual tenant of the land. Shooting from a moving vehicle isn't illegal,but you don`t do that when shooters are set up in hides ready for a days shooting. Some of these shooters moved their hides as the people in the vehicle were getting very close to the hide and letting shots off,these pellets can ricochet put some ones eye out. I have spoken to different gamekeepers,shoot captains and shooters and they cant believe anyone who shoots would do this.

Has anyone had the problem of other shooters driving round the field shooting pigeons on the ground while you are pigeon shooting. This is crazy and dangerous. We have the sporting rights for the land and the farmer who is only a contractor has told his shooters to come on the fields and more or less do as they want ie drive round the field shooting. I have contacted the farmer and asked him to get this stopped. am i being petty?

I have heard that these 2 officers were back at court on the 26/03/2010. Does anybody know what happend. There has been nothing in the paper.

At the end of the day they sold guns that had been handed in. Anybody else doing this would have been jailed. The police were quick to prosecute the solider who handed in the shotgun he found in his garden.

At the end of the day these police officers sold guns that they were not ment to. I know someone that had his certificate revoked for getting a police caution. His guns and cartridges were all removed 81 days after the caution alls he did was obstruct a police officer. There was no violence involved.Have theses officers had thier certificate revoked if they have one? Or is it the case of one law for thm and one for the public. There is talk of the cps dropping the charges this is not right in my eyes.
