  7. good question buzzer i too have thought about it and also would like to know,i know one guide in next county and what he gets, money wise and birds but i can have better days here if you put the effort in which i must quote most pigeon guides do that i know of,everyone knows time and travel cost money to find what birds are up too, come on guides heres two potential customers :what:
  8. i use kent velocity 32gm 6s diamond shot cheap as chips £80 a 1000 and pound for pound hit as hard as clear pigeon 6s but the only down fall they are slower cartridge but if you are on target most things will kill no matter what!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  10. when trapping magpies why do you have alive one in trap then and these traps can be bought most places larson traps i think they are and is this illegal then
  11. i have noticed sean a few young birds about the birds here are a odd colour sort of browny on wings rather than bluey grey and the head is young looking no markings on neck or green an white colar i kept racing pigeons for many years an for almost a year they would not show adult plumage until first malt which they only throw first flight feather within 8 to 10 months depending on time of birth, birds can be aged the same as racers by flight feathers on tips of wing working inwards dager shaped feather to round edge feather count back jan feb mar till round edge will give month of birth it was a way when buying racers to age birds and not normally far out the birds here are about sept to oct hatched
  12. shot over rape today and got 68 between me an my mate slow to start but drifted in nicely when ready, steady little stream all day, shooting on peas tomorrow drilled friday
  13. sorry cranfield just put post up about clover had not seen yours but they cant leave it alone here :(
  14. i went on thursday and shot over mown down game cover i set up in frosty conditions, waited about half an hour and in they came about 2 hours went by then birds stopped, waited about hour, hour an half and then slowly they started to come again, i ended up with 56 pigeons and 9 rooks, i split a breast open on one bird which i thought was full of rape leaves but it was packed full of clover leaves,so today we have been watching them in the meadow areas and they are going nuts on the stuff, we have found a good spot so tomorrow i intend to have a go on meadow but dont know how they will react, has anyone else seen this? will keep you posted.
