  1. WGD wish I could share your enthusiasm for Seeland, my missus had a pair of their wellies and whilst they were fantastic for around 6 months, they pretty soon leaked after that. Unfortunately didn't keep proof of purchase so nothing doing unfortunately. Won't be buying again for sure. :-(
  2. Must admit I've been thinking this for the past few years, we had a bout of mixy round here about 4 years ago and they seem to have struggled ever since. Same as Kyska mentioned though, I have definitely have more hare.
  3. Only thing I've heard about this sort of thing, and I'm not sure if it's true or not, but don't keep your wellies stored in direct sunlight when you're not using them as the rubber will perish quicker due to the UV exposure. I used to abandon mine in the conservatory over the summer, but heard this and decided to tidy up a bit! Hope this helps!
  4. I always shoot alone, don't have as much time to devote to it as I would like, but it means I can get out at a moments notice and have some me time!
  5. I'm not far from you mate and know exactly what you mean, got home half hour ago and the car was reading -13 then, think it will be even colder tonight than last night!
  6. Sorry to hijack the post guys, just wanted to say another thanks to NTTF, as this has helped with my Cocker forging, brilliant advice mate thanks. Not long got my lad as a rehome so trying to start from scratch with him
  7. Not long got this fella as a rehome, hence the lead, but recall is steadily improving now (thank god!!)
  8. I guess the Chrimbo Pressie list is a bit obvious then?? Enjoy mate
  9. Yes, only shottie I own and I love it. All my shooting is rough shooting so it's absolutely ideal for me. Ditto the post above about the chokes, mine's half and full, in an ideal world it would probably be quarter and half, but it really doesn't worry me that much. Would I buy it again? Oh yes indeedy
  10. Nice one guys, that's put my mind at rest, cheers!
  11. The missus is after a Hoggs of Fife Isla Tweed jacket for Chrimbo and as no-one stocks these locally to me it's going to have to be mail order. If I remember correctly from trying on the mens range of jackets, these are really quite generous in their sizing. Has anyone else found the same, or am I confusing them with another brand? Thoughts would be much appreciated as I'm trying to avoid the obvious 'it doesn't fit' on Christmas Day. Cheers folks
  12. Whoa there, don't get too excited just yet, I'm Lincolnshire and they are a lot slower than neighbouring Cambs. Mine was 12 weeks from interview before I had it in my hand. Be patient it will be worth the wait!
  13. Just a quick thought, if you push your trigger forwards for a second and you hear a click, you have a selective trigger and the top barrel will now fire first. That's how the selective mechanism works on my Baikal anyhow!
  14. Yup, same happened to me. Double decker bus ploughed into the back of my car, not very fast but obviously did a good job of remoulding the boot of my car. I was absolutely fine, but for months I got hounded by claims management people offering me compensation. Maybe I'm too honest too, but I can't get past the fact ...... it was an accident, this blame culture really ****** me off! Edited to add: If your driver is genuinely hurt and can't work, that's another thing entirely! Just my opinion though!
  15. OK, car insurance was due for renewal, so did the confused.com bit, One Call Insurance came out cheapest by about £30 and said they would need proof of NCD so I thought no problem clicked the yes please button and bought the policy, paid for in full through my credit card. Next thing I get an email saying we want copies, scans if possible, of the back and front of both driver's licences and also the paper counterpart, along with the proof of NCD. They also asked me to sign, scan and email the schedule of insurance too. I noticed at this point that they had missed off a non-fault claim from August '09, so I amended the schedule and emailed it off with all the other documents requested having spent a whole evening doing it. Must admit I was begining to regret buying the policy at this point as I've never been asked for scans of licences before, but I complied and thought that would be the end of it. 4 days later I get a letter saying I have outstanding documents and threatening to cancel the policy, stating that they need proof of the past 5 years motoring! I thought what the hell is this? so rang them and asked. The jumped up little squirt told me that as I'd been a non-discloser about the non-fault claim in '09 they now wanted proof of the proof of the NCD. I asked him to open the PDF I had sent of my renewal notice and there it is in black and white, non fault claim August '09. I can prove I disclosed all information but they still refused to accept this. At this point I cancelled the policy as I was still well within my 14 day cooling off period. They now want to charge £55 for one months cover with admin and won't release my money for 6-8 weeks. They have also lied to me by saying I have to fill in a form stating that I will not use the issued certificate for fraudulent means, which had been mailed to me. When the letter arrives a week later I find this could all have been done by email. Surprise surprise the 6-8 weeks doesn't start until they receive this statement. I am at present lodging a complaint as I cannot involve the Insurance Ombudsman until this is done. Needless to say chaps, avoid these at all costs, they take your money, refuse to accept any fault, refuse to return what is not rightly theirs and tell lies to keep your money as long as possible. I'm 3 weeks down the line, still have not had any refund and the line manager will not even come on the line to talk to me. Disgraceful company!
  16. +1 on Grazon, it's excellent if you have surrounding grass that you don't want to kill, another great product that does a similar thing is Barclay Hurler, these are both broadleaf weedkillers so won't kill grass. You do need to be applying these before September/October though as you need to be in 'growing season' for them to effectively work, or you'll just knock them back a bit and next year you'll have the same problem. If you go down the glyphosate route Gimlet is absolutely correct, the roundup from garden centres is rubbish, Roundup concentrate from an Agri Merchant is a different animal, there's a few brands around, but if unsure look at the active ingredient, you want around 360g/litre. Hope this helps Edited to add: You do need to spray these products on, even if it's with a hand mister, do not try and whack it on with a watering can sprinkler head, it will run off the intended area and you'll waste your chemical.

    cz452

As already stated really, I have trigger kits on both my 452 LR and HMR, I got the SYSS Rimfire Magic ones for £12, fitted them myself without issue, but you do NEED a suitable needle punch, please do not try to do it with a nail or something daft! Only needed to lighten the springs on mine, creep was fine, but they're all individuals!
  18. Have a Nikko Stirling Gameking 4-16x50 ao ir. Does everything I want it to do

    freebi time

    Great offer, top bloke
  20. Is this for real??? Lets all just shoot at ridiculous ranges and sod whether we wound our quarry! Sorry mate but in my opinion this is disgraceful.
  21. Lots of good advice here, the only thing I would add, is clean your CZ, and I don't mean a quick pull through with a bore snake, I mean like new clean. Buy a hundred rounds of as many different brands of ammo that your RFD stocks, shoot 20 at a time cleaning thoroughly between each brand, only this way will you get a consistent idea of the preferred ammo of your rifle. Give yourself time, I find if I spend too long plinking, my shots get worse instead of better, then I start to micro manage things that could be wrong and start changing things. Do as Billy says, relax, squeeze the trigger and almost be surprised when the gun fires. If you're getting frustrated at your groupings things will only get worse. Try to relax and go back to basics, or a point that you know works, if that is air rifle range then so be it, get your confidence back and extend from there. Hope this helps fella, hang in there ATB
  22. Ok, I work in sales, not in the gun trade admittedly, but to be honest, if I have a regular customer that consistently buys from me small items at a slightly higher price than he could buy elsewhere as he values the service/advice/knowledge or whatever, I would do everything I could to make sure he didn't go anywhere else for his larger purchase. It's all very well traders wanting to make a set percentage of markup come what may, but in these uncertain times, you hold on to your valued clients even if that means trimming your profit to 5% never mind 40% (I wish!). To do otherwise is a slippery slope, people get irritated if they can't buy items where they are comfortable buying them and the smaller items are likely to go the way of the large item too. It also reinforces the value of the customer when he sees the ticket price of, say £500, he knows he can buy it from a megastore for £375, but his preferred supplier says to him "look I really can't compete with the 'pile em high, sell em cheap' crowd who haven't got a clue, but, I'll do a one off for £420 and I'll set it up for you and make sure it's good to go straight from the box". I do feel for the smaller traders in any market, not just the gun trade (which I admit, my only knowledge is from the customer side of the counter), but times are hard, people don't have extra cash to fritter away. Personally I buy at the cheapest to a point, if like the example I just gave, I was more comfortable and felt more secure paying slightly more, then I will do so every time. The bottom line is if the dealer won't help you a little, you can always go elsewhere.
  23. I'm really interested to know, what has she sacrificed in all of this? No guns because she says so, no motorbike due to cash shortage? Has she actually stopped doing something she enjoys because 'it's against your principles', or to save some cash? Sorry to be blunt here mate, but she sounds like a right selfish cow on the strength of what we know and to be honest the control whore post doesn't sound too far off to me. I once had a girlfriend who started to moan that I spent too much time at the stables with my horse and not with her. I told her to **** off, the horse was there before she was, the horse needed looking after and that's that! I just don't understand why someone would want to change a fundamental part of someones life, do that and they'll cease to be the person they were attracted to in the first place. Good luck with it mate, it's a **** situation if you really like the girl.

    Is it fair ?

Couldn't agree more mate, you rant away. Far too often in this country good hardworking people are worse off than dossers and layabouts, I completely agree and sympathise with your family, it isn't fair, not by a mile. As for being let out of prison to breed again, sorry, that just makes my blood boil. As far as I am concerned, human rights cease to exist once you go to prison, or should anyway.
