  1. fiver sent, hope she rekindles her faith
  2. DONT buy anything listed as located in China, India etc etc........ also if you are daft enough to buy any high end optics or pretty much anything high value you kinda deserve all ya get.... all that looks too good to be true usually is
  3. fantastic pic .............. wish I was even a tenth as skilled with my camera!
  4. buy a stapler... trust me it's even more annoying when you are trying to peel them off and they come off in strips
  5. 46:55:00 .................. Hmmmmmm
  6. Frenchieboy don't get too bogged down with paperwork and bench data, in the field there is not a big enough difference between .222 and .223 to worry about... personally I use a .223 with a 26 inch barrel and a 1:12 twist, the weight and length of it is a damn nuisance (with mod attached) but I can target shoot it out to 600yds (if it's not too windy) and it is more than capable at despatching foxes and bunnies, if you want to eat the bunny afterwards just choose yer shots and headshoot those ones. I use 55grain heads for everything now, anything heavier tends to pepperpot I figure it's the twist rate. .223 is easier to lay hands on and has a variety of choice compared to .222, I used .222 for years and moved to .223 because of this . I only wish that I'd got a shorter barrel though, other than that I 'm very happy with my choice. Don't forget the less common the calibre = the less common the ammo, just go to your local dealer and ask what choice of ammo he has in given calibres..... might help influence your choice
  7. Does that mean does Santa hold an FAC?, (Rudolph might be a bit nervy, if Santas got a section 5) or does that mean has Santa got an FAC in his sack for you this year? Either way, Merry Xmas to you and to all PW'ers
  8. ABC of reloading is money well spent if you're just starting. Speers manual is not all that much good in my opinion (specific to speers bullets), my Bible is the Lyman, it's a bit more general.... but once you've got yourself sorted you'll only occasionally look at the same one or two pages. I've got about a foot and a half of books on reloading on my shelf,..... read them all when I started ..... haven't looked at them since. One thing that puzzles me is that if you look up the same callibre and bullet weight in all the books, they all quote different values
  9. China has a habit of walking them out of the dock, round to the back of the courthouse and shooting them on the spot... not nice.....not pretty ..... but cheap and efficient........... can't say that I like it, but I feel that as deterrents go, that one covers it for me.
  10. incredible pics mate....... gets me where you find so much light ..... all I've had is rain lately
  11. Palladium gets my vote,.. hardwearing, ....stays the same colour forever.... pricewise not much different to gold
  12. you would think that yer group size would open up....... but I've never noticed any difference
  13. brings ya back to the old adage "If a jobs worth doing properly...do it yourself" ,...... for my own entertainment I used to mark things and torque spark plugs and bolts up to specific values (not the one in the book) whenever I stuck a new bike into the dealer for it's free 500 mile service, without fail it always came back untouched, lots of different bikes, lots of different dealers, same rip off .... all it did was give me that valuable stamp in the book for the warranty..... then I did the service myself
  14. I would consider it very carefully, even if gaining permission from the right place..... should an accident be caused by your actions ... ie a rabbit slipping the net and and bolting across the road ... or even merely by you being cited as a distraction .... wouldn't like to be in your shoes I got turfed off the top of a motorway embankment by the police some years ago... all I was doing was covering the holes just the other side of the fence at the top of a large cutting... police got very humpy and rolled out a long list of of half a**** charges from trespass to liability to cause an accident etc etc ... may have been bull , but wasn't worth me arguing the toss with an an angry red faced copper
