  3. Amazing what we find out... at least shooting Grey Squirrels help the Reds move back into and area so the more Greys we can shoot the better and more places become haven for Reds for us to see
  4. Hello folks, I had a chat yesterday to a lady from the Northern Red Squirrels group. As i have been looking to setup a new group to help our Red Squirrels. Whilst we were chatting i mentions trying to include and collection information from other groups like PW regarding Grey Squirrel culling. She had never heard of the Pigeon Watch before.. but seemed pleased that we were actively trapping and shooting Greys. Just thought id do a bit of flag waving for the PW Cheers John
  5. Heres a message i didnt make earlier lol Well what an interesting idea...all those hours watching blue peter certainly helping there Im wondering if there are any actual life size replica's. If not you may have to get a copyright/patent on that Hope it does work. cheers John

  7. Hello everyone, Not that i shoot pigeons... but i have often wondered what the situation is regarding control of those dirty Ferral Pigeons we all see in our towns Are they able to be shot legally by shooter sush as yourselfs? Walking round Preston yesterday, it was full of them and i have always thought they should get rid of them!! Cheers John
  8. Hello everyone I was sitting at the computer today, thinking about our GREY Squirrel problem.... When i had an idea ... (it doesnt happen very often!) Could we create an interactive map showing a rough area to where all the members who are involved in Grey trapping and shooting have had success. e.ge. showing a postcode, and No's of Greys killed\trapped. We could then pass the info onto other organistations that are involved in similar work Thanks, and wrap up warm John Melling
  9. Good job, well done Better luck than me ! not seen a squirrel to shoot at for a week, had 3 on my fence running about today but was to dangerous to try.. grrr
  10. Hello there, Funny that as i was looking at a video on the tinternet, of a Grey Squirrel attacking a snake, somewhere in the USA. It didnt kill it, but you could see the snake had bite marks and some blood in 3 areas along it body. The snake was big enought to kill the snake easy.. but the sqiggle kicks its backside all over the road. And they do eat meat when needed Talking of sqiggles ... not had one in my garden for a week... saw 2 in next doors Was tempted to shoot em ggggrrrrrrrr Cheers

  12. Hello Everyone I just joined the site, Getting intrested in air rifle shooting. having borrowed my dads friends .117 Rifle (make unknown) We have been plagued by Grey Squirrels in our garden and attic, so we got a live trap as well So when i started 23\3\2010 i have trapped and shot 2 Greys upto now, but i know there are more. I live a mere 100 yards if that, from the forest. few of the the ******* are in there. So what is the law regarding trapping\shooting them in forests, as it doesnt belong to anyone except maybe the council Thanks John
