  1. I think he got the measure of them. I know a big land owning farmer that made his money the hard way. By solid 16 hour day hard graft. Who encountered a load of the getting ready to set up on one of his hay paddocks on a sunday morning. They they all were all threats and intimidation when he warned them that he was intent on a bit of slurry spraying. For some reason they didn't believe him. They did an hour and a half later and 3 passes past their vans with a few thousand gallons of liquid poo.
  2. What's the breeding and what are the carcases expected to grade out at?
  3. Since when did Mr May become a leading expert on urban fox behaviour? That a bit like saying Liam Gallagher is an expert on particle physics.
  4. All of the above with an added kick. You are perfectly entitled to take your case to the small claims court. CAB will advise you on that process or you can read the following HMCS web site HMCS. The retailer will then have a judgement made against them for the all of your costs including making the claim. This goes on record and affects the businesses credit rating. Not something they will want in these cash strapped times. If they fail to repay those cost it then becomes a matter for the court bailiffs. Who canl cease goods to the value of ,plus their considerable fees.
  5. The big problem with that design is the seat is at 90degrees to the ladder. There by making the thing prone to instability and front of the seat ends up higher than the back making the front seat bar a pressure point for the back of your thighs. You need to increase the angle between the seat and the ladder by how much vry much depends on location but I've found 100-105 works quite well.
  6. There you go jumping to conclusions again. I'll have to put it down to your age and experience. You can build better and cheaper than the Sportsman offering. As Pavman said "they need a bit of a mod with both the rail height and the tree support and you will need to be able to weld to make a proper job of it".
  7. How upsetting for you. I know how some people hate to have their misguided and misinformed views and opinions questioned on an open forum, and then have to try and defend them. Like is said. Amazing how the same people form the wrong impression, or jump to the wrong conclusion all the time. I've never been a member of THL. Too many dogmen, ex-dogmen and neer do wells on it for my liking. Sometimes its best just to be unassociated with a certain type of person.
  8. Sounds to me as if he is a tenant of a larger estate who retain the shooting and sporting right which is then let to a syndicate as a whole. the fact that the syndicate do nothing as far as your family friend farm is concerned has naff all to do with it. The estate owns the rights and the syndicate pays for the privilege to exercise those rights. I for one would not be happy at a tenant farmer allowing anyone to shoot on land that I either owned the shooting right to or lease the right to. If I found out that it was occurring the agent or estate factor would be getting a phone call immediately in order to bring the matter to a swift and definite conclusion.
  9. I've made dozens over the years wooden ones, metal ones, free standing ones, lean to ones, light weight ones, permanent box type ones, low ones, nose bleed causing, ear popping causing high ones. Take a look on here there are plans, cutting list, loads of advice and guys willing to help. Just type in high seats in the search facility. Theres even a guy running a one day build yourself a high seat training course. But he,s a bit a ways from you down in Someset/Devon.
  10. No chips on these shoulders Doc. They are as broad and as smooth as a gladiators. Slick and wide would be the words I'd use to describe them. Another fly?
  11. Amazing how the same people form the wrong impression, or jump to the wrong conclusion all the time.
  12. Like I said Doc . Just cos you can doesn't necessarily mean that you should. I can only reiterate my earlier comment. Anyone that thinks a 17gn BT 17 r/f bullet is an acceptable diet for foxes needs to sit back and take a long hard look at themselves. But opinions are like buses if you wait longer enough another one is sure to come alone.
  13. I guess the tattoo removal people wont be getting much work out of you then.
  14. No Doc. IMO Just because you can drop an elephant with a 6.5X57 Mannlicher Schoenauer doesn't mean to say that its the right tool for the job in the hands of the other 99.999% of shooters.
  15. Seems people have gotten away with being ***** for a fair length of time so I see no reason why people can't be pedantic as well
