Jordon asked my very nicely to post this for y'all to read. Some in here will appreciate it apparently (if the pics dont work, blame him not me) 'Well Saturday night i met up with a mate and made the 130 mile journey down to London. We had been invited out by a lad we know to help out a couple of keepers who had a problem with foxes. We were staying at another lad’s house and got a phone call at 10:30pm to tell us it was off despite the fact we rang before we left to check everything. Apparently the excuse was they had to feed the birds, now to me if i had a choice between feeding the birds and keeping them alive i know which option i would take. Went out lamping on the Saturday night anyway and saw a fair bit of game and had some good runs got back in about 4ish then was up at 7 to go out to a place that the lad we were staying with new of. We entered the black dog and had a nice easy dig of about 2-3ft and got a tidy result. So at least the journey wasn’t wasted . Ive witnessed halal killing and the normal way and the halal way is much more humane. The animal isnt panicked, lead quietly and calmly,,not infront of other animals and just has its neck slit with a extremely sharp silver knife. Its dead within seconds. Im sure I dont have to get into the barbaric way the traditional british slaughter house works. Its far far worse. Oh, and its not only muslims who eat halal meats..the Jewish eat Kosha meats which have to be killed in the same way.

I'd wake up without the dog licking my face..hopefully beside a handsome man who'd cook me brekkie in bed and give me a back massage. (that wasnt sexual at all LB ) :*) Then, he'd carry me downstairs, help me into my wellies, wax jacket, wax trousers and hat, then take me outside and show me the brand new Land Rover Defender 90 TDi (black with lotsy checkerplate and a piccie of the stones tongue on the spare wheel cover) outside,and hand me the keys. We'd load up the shotguns, ferrets, lurcher, terrier and harris hawks and jump in to go get it nice a muddy. (listening to the rolling stones on the CD player. Obviously!) We'd pull up outside a beautiful stately home, complete with wisteria growing up the outside of it, where we'd be met by a group of hunting/shooting friends and have a good chat about where would be best to go that day. After lots of laughter and teasing, we'd get back in the lannie and head off. Off roading through woodland, down bridalways, thru lots of water to make it woosh over us, we'd arrive at a suitable spot and unload. We'd then spend the day ferreting and hawking, not really catching too much, but having fun. We'd stop for a picnic, and taking the break to watch the wonderful countryside that we're so blessed with. After a long day, we'd pack up and head back to the big house. I'd go upstairs and lay down on the four poster bed, shut my eyes and drift of into dream land. *sigh*

I'm doing countryside management at my college. There so much great opportunities open to us young 'uns who love the countryside, arent we lucky

Had a lovely walk today with my mutt..He was good on the lead, good on his recall, but is still showing a desire to chase cars B) Anyways, came home and because i was freezing, decided to have a shower. Put mutt in the kitchen with a chewie and left him too it. Came back half an hour later... Little swine had gone thru the bin! Not happy!

it would have been a short eared owl hun..they can get alot lighter than the pic i posted. Unless it was an escapee, but i wouldnt have thought they would last long. Or, your a pudding

short eared owl? Theyre pale-ish, fly from ground (not frmo trees) and fly in the day. Plus they have the 'owl wings' which are curved or 'drooped' And they can get b-i-g. I saw one coming back from Birmingham to melton. Amazing birds.
