  1. Baikal's are well under rated Shotguns. I've had a single Baikel now for over 20yrs, still going strong, never once let me down. Also got a S/S. Had everything through it from 3" Mag's down over. Bazooka Joe.
  2. I would have gave a £1000 to see the expression on everyone's face in that shop that day. You can laugh about it now, but it was pretty serious at the time. To be honest I don't think anyone batterd an eye lid when he pulled the trigger, way of life in Scotland. Bazooka Joe
  3. Huntsman Luke, I would be careful using old paper case cartridges in your mossberg pump. We were shooting Geese in the Newton Stewart area a long time ago, & were in a gun shop one day, when a bloke entered the shop, pulled a mossberg pump out of the gun bag, & began to describe the problem he had with the gun, to the shop owner. He had being down the fore shore on the morning with the same gun, never had a shot, but when he came to unload, he couldn't. What had happened was, the cartridges had got wet some how, & the extractors couldn't eject the cartridge. Obviously, because the cartridge had swollen with the damp. You have never seen as many people duck at once as he swung round with the gun belly height, to show the rest of the shop what had happened. The only way to remove it safely, was for the shop owner ( who phoned the police before he did it ) to pull the trigger. Which he did in the river opposite. I dare bet both your Biakel, & Mossberg are Nitro proofed. Get them checked properly, & stick with modern ones. Bazooka Joe B)
  4. I'm going for the CZ 527 Varmint, .204. Everyone I know who has one, has a good word for them. The 550, in .243, Full stock, is the next one. Love the mannlicher type stocks, just something about them  Cheers Frank, Bazooka Joe. B)
  5. Frank, Much appreciated your response., I've read quite a bit on the .204, & have a forum buddy who rates it highly. Me being what I am, I have to go into the balistic's of it. Reading between the lines, the 39 Blitz Kings, & new Berger bullets will preform best. That, I intend to find out, in time. I'll not need to shoot the Fox at any great range, so the 32 v max's will probally be OK. Seems the Law pretty tight over their, & by the way, I'm half Irish, B) What rifle did you have Frank  I'm thinking on a CZ, I've got one in .22, & love it. Cheers, Bazooka Joe
  6. First post, just joined the forum yesterday. Getting a .204 before long, intend reloading, as I always did when we had the hand guns. Whoever's is into the .204, & reloads, I'll need ammo first then the Dies etc to follow. Live in the Northeast, Newcastle area, just to give you an idea of travel distance. Plus your preferred loads, bullet weights, powder, etc. Cheers, Bazooka Joe.
