  1. Seems only fair to me. Would you give a gun and ammo to someone who has never handled a gun, without any instruction? I would not, not without atleast a good talking to about do's/donts and me showing them too. I was asked by FEO at application but had been clay shooting under instuction for a while. Granted this was with friends, but at least I had 'some' experience.
  2. Just be careful. If you are going to complete via bank transfer all the person paying you needs is three details: The account name The Sort Code The account number Thats it! Scams involving your account need another bit of information, such as either you PIN or the security code on the back of your card. A genuine creditor will only need the above listed details to pay you and you should give them these. If they ark for more then DO NOT give them the details and start getting suspicious. Otherwise, its all good. I too prefer this method of payment as once its it your account, not BACS, but a Bank Transfer, you have to give permission for the money to be taken out. If they pay by BACS they will have to pay a fee of about £30, if they pay by Bank Transfer then they are limited to making deposits of upto 10k a time (personal account limits). So don't be alarmed if the they have to send two deposits if the total selling price is over this. Happy to provide more info if you like, I work for a bank.
  3. I was under the impression that if you had mental health issues, the type that needed drugs to treat, you could not have a SGC until you had been clear of them for 5 years. This is of course assuming you are applying. So the same should apply if you already have a SGC and are subsequently put on said treatment. when you apply does your doctor not get asked if you are OK to have the cert. I would have though that this would have been noted on his file and when the doc prescribed the treatment he would have to notify the police aswell. Or it that me thinking about it too much.
  4. ususally when a turbo goes its the bearings and oil leaks past them into the intake, hence the smoke (lots). However, with what you have said above I would be inclined to say you have a split hose as Vipa suggested. Follow the hose from the output of the turbo thru the intercooler and into the intake and look for a split in the rubber hose. It may only be blowing open when under load so might be a bit difficult to find but defo worth checking first.
  5. A shot turbo would see you with plooms of horrid oil smoke from the exhaust, trust me, you will know when/if you see it. Think fog machine. An indication is oil smoke on start-up (this could be other things I know but its a good indicator). The roaring you mention - is it the normal sound of the engine or a distinctly different one? sure its not just the clutch slipping at times? Try taking the pipework off the turbo/intercooler and looking for excess oil. Also, you don't need to have a light on the dash for there to be something wrong with the motor, silly spotted twerp. They can and do record fault codes in the ECU wihtou flagging a light so get the ECU read by a good mechanic. Could be something as simple as a vacume hose.
  6. Your welcome. Now you'll find out if the mrs can cope without the ghds for a week. For the money you can't go too far wrong and if it turns out it's not for you then no massive loss. If it is then you can save up for an outwell Montana or alike hope you have a good week away. I'm off to cornwall doing the same next week
  7. oh I don't know, the mrs has her tongue pierced and while you may say it doesn't look that attractive I can tell you it feels GREAT!
  8. I agree with the metal poles comment above but in a 320, with bikes, your gonna strugggle to get one in with all the other bits and bobs you need. And for £200, bit of a push. Maybe 300 quid. Try http://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/camping/tents for a rough idea. My suggestion, if your not too sure your going to be into it is to get on fleabay and find something like a Colman Tri-space. I know they are fibre galss poles but you should be able to pick one up cheap (100 ish mark). Their well put together, and provided it was looked after, should see you right for a while. 2 double bedrooms, big central area and should only take 30 mins max to put up. And it wont take all the boot up.
  9. Fish and chips, with large helping of mushy peas and a can of dandilion and burdoc. Just cant beat it! Gravy is just not right on fish! Second on owllerton dogs; their chicken in a basket is tip top!
  10. I also agree. My FEO visit was only a few months ago (South Yorkshire) and he advised me to have the cabinet ready for inspection. I was also asked to have the fittings I intended to use to secure it ready. If not, then he has to come back and check them over when you do have them, and that just slows your application down. I'd be off out this weekend getting a cabinet sorted if I were you!
  11. I would defiantly recommend Access for this job. It would be a very simple database to set-up for your requirements. Then, all you would need to do is set-up a query (based in Access) with your requirements. The output of this report could then be presented in either a format you can use for any of your existing Mail Merge templates, or, as I would do it, output as a form thats directly printable. In addition, you can also split Access databases in to 'front' and 'back' ends. The front end being the reports and forms you see, and the back end being that actual records with data. The back end can then be stored on a different disk for security/backup reasons. As the backend is separate you can also use multiple copies of the front end from different locations at the same time, so long as the back end is stored in a location you can both access. The following stock database should give you a good foundation - http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/template...0184611033.aspx
  12. Thanks for the warm welcome folks
  13. Hello from t'arn (Barnsley to most) I'm a new member to PW but have been looking on this site for a while now so though it only right to make myself a member and say hello. I've been shooting air rifles for a number of years and own a Falcon FN19. 8 shot, .22, complete with falcon moderator. I also have a standard AA S200 10 shot , also .22, that the Mrs uses when I'm no where near. In addition, I have also recently obtained my SGC so have been scounting about here for some advice on a decent £500ish O/U s-gun. A true wealth of knowledge and opinion to be found so thanks already for the valuable input... I'm always up for a bit of shooting if anyone fancies it, just let me know...
