  1. 100% WRONG If anyone got prosecuted it would be the carriers Not the company sending or the person receiving. And that came from the Top Man Of Firearms licensing Department . As other's have stated if you and other's Don't want to do then fine .
  2. 100 % agree Kent And in over 40+ years of Goose shooting I've NEVER had to shoot ONE out of season. Done plenty of Non Leathful methods eg walking of with Dogs putting up Scarers and flagging. IMHO to many trigger happy people out there and not a lot willing to put the effort in so take the easy option.
  3. I personally believe we are getting our wires crossed as I've only been trying to point out you can't just go Willy nilly shooting Canada Geese and they are still classed as Wildfowl so still some Wildfowl law's.Eg If you or indeed anyone with a FAC Shotgun was Pigeon shooting and a Skein of Canada Geese came over would you feel/think you are legally allowed to shoot them or if you/anyone was invited to shoot Canada Geese FLIGHTING from eg a estuary/Foreshore again do you feel/think you can legally shoot them with a FAC Shotgun. I'm not perfect or indeed know every Law regarding shooting but I have for nigh on the last 40 yrs dealt with Ministry of agricultural and fisheries- DEFRA and natural England regarding Goose licences mainly for Brent Geese. I must admit I find them all a mind field eg with a Brent Licence although restricted to numbers allowed to be shot mine have run from 1st November till 30th April and you can shoot them on Sunday even in county's that doesn't allow Sunday shooting of Wildfowl. Another during a hard weather Wildfowl shooting ban you can get a Licence to shoot Pinkfeet and Greylag Geese. Just my opinion but if needs must I would prefer to have the system where you have to do as the Brent Licence. Prove the damage have numbers fixed and only named shooters to carry out the control. Hopefully then the Geese and system would not be abused and no grey areas where people think there right others think there wrong as the situation is with the Canada Geese. I've not ever tried to offend yourself or any other But it does really get under my skin people using/reading the Law to suit there needs to wack the Poo out of Canada Geese or indeed anything. I apologise if yourself or indeed any member felt it was a personal attack as it was not
  4. Malantone. Correct and have a read of PROHIBITED weapons eg you can not use
  5. Thank you all for the kind comments. SuperGoose75 I was very confident of getting Conor under the Leucistic I even took my phone to capture some picotures IF his shot was successful but unfortunately the Yobs on Scooters totally ruined the flight line. Fingers crossed the Geese follow year's of Traditional habits if so Conor should stand a good chance in 2-3 weeks time . For sure I won't be shooting it if the chance comes.
  6. Thanks John. Refence to the Pinks. Having a few years ago having achieved my goal of a September Pink l personally leave them alone Inland but have been very very lucky whilst Duck shooting on the Foreshore shot a few early September Pinks earliest being the 8th September. Last week of August last year a Birder called Penny from Kings Lynn reported 2000 Pinks on the web at Holme next the sea. These was feeding on a Estate I shoot/control Geese on but by the 1st September they had moved on mass Holkam direction. I phoned Robert (Anser2) to see if he could confirm this but unfortunately he could not. Where they went God knows. Another early September I was lamping Rabbit with .17HMR there was a full Moon and whilst picking up a Rabbit 30 odd Pinks went over feet up heading to Scolts Head yet I personally never saw or head another Pink till late September. Amazing mysterious Birds are Wild Geese in my mind
  7. This evening flight was spoilt by two yobs on scooters. But we saw the first Wigeon of the season Conor also saw his first Leucistic Greylag along with 400+ Greylag 200+ Canada Geese and from the only bunch of Greylag to just come in range killed a Greylag with his first shot even I managed to end the first with a Goose. So ended a very long day with many fantastic sights and memory's . Best I get out after Conor is back to school Thursday and try to stop his 2 - 1, 2 - 1 chant. But truthfully seeing that 14 yr old smile and joy is better than myself shooting Geese
  8. Grandson decided he would like to head to the Coast rather than go 10 minutes local. Through past experience i choose a spot as I had done no recent fact finding. With the light breaking and Greylag calling on the Mud.I was sure my mind was dreaming when Conor said Pinks grandad Pinks sure enough a party of 5 Pinks came towards us sadly it was a case of " if only ". As the Greys got flighting we had to move but unfortunately we was a few minutes late and watched Gobsmacked as a party of 5 more Pinks went in with the Greys as I turned to tell Conor " sorry my Fault as I had not done my home work " I saw 4 more Geese Game on this time. Advicing Conor " think there Pigeons " I was well chuffed to see his first shot of season cleanly fold and kill a Canada. So ended a fantastic first morning. This evening I'll be doing my best to get Conor the chance of a Leucistic Greylag and hopefully bag some Greys and Canada myself.
  9. Top Man John. I'm always very interested in the Geese especially White front's. Did you find out about any Banded/Ringed Pinks last season in your area or the Leucistic Pink
  10. Thanks mate as I stated why would I risk my tickets. Oh well let the disbelieving pay through the nose hey.
  11. Please read and read then understand the Law correctly Canada Geese " ARE NOT VERMIN " there have always been and still are Classed a " WILDFOWL " and covered by WILDFOWL laws eg You can NOT use a Shotgun capable of holding more than ONE cartridge in the chamber and TWO in the magazine and you have to use NON TOXIC SHOT Surely even you can see if they was VERMIN the semi auto and non toxic rule would not apply
  12. Plenty of people use the service I described. Why would you think a SGC and FAC holder like myself would post illegal doings on a Forum !!!!!! And risk losing both SGC and FAC !!!!! And members on here if you are on THESTALKINGDIRECTORY check on to see I'm Right
  13. Not from USA but www.alpinhunting .com from Europe will send expanding Projectiles.E-mail them to make sure they have in stock what you need first before you order will take 2-3 weeks and will arrive at your home address NO PROBLEM and you won't be breaking the law unless (1) you go over your qouter (2) you order a calibre your not entitled to hold and they Don't have to be entered on your FAC But my Firearms Department advised me to keep/print all emails and receipt to show the transactions.
  14. 100 % agree Kent Nothing would please me more than ( 1 ) Canada Geese having a season eg like Pinks ( 2) those flaunting the Law/Licence getting prosecuted and lose there SGC FAC or Both for life
  15. Wrong They do have a Close as from 31st January you Can NOT shoot them purely for SPORTING REASONS. from 1st February unless on the foreshore where the season ends 20th February Inland you can then after doing as you described shoot them under the GL
  16. I to gave you Sound advice. Here is some more advice Rather than get your knickers in a twist about me who has 40yrs useing Rifles from 22rf through to 300 Win-Mag and shotguns .410 through to 4ga on a daily basis. Look at your own actions !!!! eg as ALL can see in your pictures you have a Rifle pointing God knows where with a Closed Bolt and a Shotgun also with a Closed Bolt !!!! Need I say any more.
  17. Like Robert ( Anser2 ) I've been very very blessed over the years and mirror Roberts results with the odd extra from Hebrides Islands. So for me it's all about my 14yr old Grandson this season I'll be giving it 100% for him to achieve his First Whitefront ( he came very close a few times last season ) and first Goose under the Moon. December/ January Moon's he stands a chance of achieving both in a Moon flight weather permitting But next week I will again weather permitting try to get him a Canada under the Moon. Robert my Bahama Pintail was shot September same marsh from the Pool !!!!! I knew what it was do to the Bird Identifying you gave me many years ago when you worked for Bill. Just thought I do have ONE !!!!! My home loads perform and kill as well when my mate loaded them for me.
  18. Totally Agree. And I would advise a.s.a.p the OP learns a safer way to despatch wounded Birds as a 22rf is a accident in waiting. Whilst my Brother and I was decoying Pigeons using only shot birds some deranged Soul decided to open up with a 22rf resulting in two Projectiles smacking into the ditch inches from us having picked us off the Rape field. I stopped using a 22rf years ago as even shooting down at a angle more often than not you would hear a Projectile pick up and go Whinning away.
  19. No problem mate hope the pictures was of some help.A cartridge I did stop using was 36grm Victory Steel due to quite a few had the WAD actually Crimped causing the Shot and WAD to go out like a Solid Slug. A good friend of mine found this problem to
  20. You are a big let down on the gun front let alone the steel issue which is something else. Whilst I admit to hardly ever useing 3.5" 12ga Steel shot Cartridges I'd like a £ for every Pigeon Duck and Goose I've cleanly killed with steel shot and I'm not talking close range also through my choice I use TTSX Projectiles ( non toxic ) for all my Deer Stalking again you would need Very Deep pockets to pay a £ for the clean killed Deer I've shot. May I suggest you get in the real world and move with the times as I know plenty of Wildfowlers who use Old English Guns and have NO issues with non toxic shot including Steel shot.
  21. Can't upload pictures RC 36grm steel has a B&P35 wad split 4 times but ONLY just under half way. Don't know what the wad is in RC 32grm steel but again split the same as the RC 36grm
