  1. Looks like being a lot more expensive than the Freelander which is being discontinued so what is going to fill that gap in the market?
  2. Have a look at Borderview.com. I brought a Beretta semi in through them and it all worked very well but took about three months from start to finish.
  3. Enjoyed shooting the round with you Northern Gunner. I thought the targets were excellent. Your friend shot really well from the sitting position, I was really impressed.
  4. I have a black one for sale if any use to you!
  5. Yes five or six of us from S.Lincs are going, it's normally a really good shoot and day out. Should be even better this year with the extended clubhouse. Miss the 100 bird registered they used to have there.
  6. My wife's grandad Rusty Lawson was a semi professional wildfowler on the Wash in 30s 40s and 50s and used a 16 bore hammer gun for a lot of his shooting including geese.
  7. Be careful a lot of dog insurances do not cover working dogs. This is often only included in the small print and the insurance company's assumptions. You may believe you have insurance and then find out too late that because of this clause you are not covered.
  8. Classic gun, don't expect the same soft shooting properties of modern gas operated autos. I have one which my father in law bought second hand in 1959, have shot thousands of pigeons with it - full choke. You don't have to be precious with them, they will stand a lot of abuse. Price sounds OK for one in really good condition.
  9. When I referred to beaters being singled out I was making the point about only being paid while actually beating ,rather than being paid for the time you report for duty until you finish in the afternoon. It's like a shop assistant only being paid while serving customers! I appears in some part of the country shoots seem to have this whole issue sorted out but as mentioned in our area it's the same £25 no questions asked.
  10. It begs the question are beaters being singled out re "wage exclude periods when no work is being done". If this applied generally to most employees then there would be large periods when they would not get paid, if you look at the standing around going on.The whole thing still seems a bit of a mess, the three shoots I know, two of them commercial just carried on as usual last year. Pay was the same and names and addresses were hard to come by!
  11. If beaters are treated as employees then surely they should be entitled to the minimum wage? I do mean being paid from a start time in the morning to a finish time late afternoon, not this rubbish of only being paid while actually beating! Yes we don't do it for the pay but we don't want the urine extracted from us either!
  12. Having shot it on Thursday I think there is a possible 117/118 out there from one of the top lads.
  13. Yes I will be there, if it's up to the normal standard it will be a great shoot!
  14. There is a new gun shop in Sleaford. As stated previously the best place for cartridges is Guns and Tackle at Whaplode, they also have a small selection of guns.
  15. Once followed a lady onto a stand at a charity clay shoot, she looked as though she was going to deliver at any moment but it did not stop her from straighting the stand!
  16. Excellent guns, I have two, one Teague choked and the other the original 3/4 and full 32". For some reason I seem to shoot better with the non teague version. Have also in the past had a factory multi choke version which I could not get on with at all. I think the barrels are heavier to accommodate the Mobil chokes. I mostly shoot English sporting and FITASC sporting with them but when I do shoot DTL it's just as though the gun is doing the work for you, very steady and pointable - brilliant dtl guns. Depending on condition you could expect to pay anywhere from £700 - £1200.
  17. Shot 75 and only one straight stand which was number one which most people struggled on, funny old game!
  18. Had the same experience but enjoyed it, first time there, nice to shoot somewhere different in very pleasant surroundings.
  19. Weather good - my shooting rubbish, no excuses, great shoot as usual!
  20. Shooting it tomorrow, looks like the weather will be OK. It can be a problem with some of the big shoots over several days, you can be lucky or unlucky with the weather and it makes a big difference to the scores!
  21. If you type in Benelli spacer in their search box it should come up with it, likewise kickeez prefit pads.
  22. You can get a kickeez pre fit pad from Brownells in the States and they also sell Benelli pre fit spacers if the stock is still not long enough.
  23. I've got a sporting stock which you could have, very nice wood. It's been professionally repaired but very hard to tell and seems very sound hence I would not want too much for it. Also got some Rhino thread chokes if your gun takes them and you are interested.
