  1. I’ve done a few supersporting comps recently and really enjoyed them. It’s great to have the variety rather than 5 pairs that you sometimes get on sporting. Although it has been around for some time it has recently had a revival and adopted as a CPSA registered event. I think it does need a bit refining. A problem I had at one ground was that the menus were at the side of the cage instead of in front of you and as you say it does take quite a while to get through with 6 in a squad. From the ground owners point of view I’ve heard that it is a lot of work to put on and they might be reluctant if they are not sure on numbers attending compared to a regular sporting.
  2. All I can tell you is my own experience. I had no systems at all but had a routine PSA test which was border line high for a man of my age 71 at the time. That was 4.7 and they like it to be less than 5 for my age. Repeat testing monthly showed a gradual increase to 5.1. My doctor asked if I just wanted to keep an eye on it or proceed with a MRI scan. I opted for the scan and it turned out I had cancer at the moderately aggressive level. I had my prostate out 17 months ago and seem to be ok cancer wise but continue to have a little bit of a problem with dribble but is not affecting my lifestyle. My advice would be push for a MRI scan.

Heard one yesterday in the S. Lincs fens. First one for about 15 years. They used to be common in the area but hearing that one made my day.
  4. Went to vote today and at 9.30 am two people had voted before us. Lot of interest then! 😂
  5. Same here and also it used to be excellent value being less than a normal reg shoot per hundred now it’s more expensive!
  6. I use that as well and found it excellent. Some greases can be too sticky and encourage bits of grit to adhere and cause scoring. You can also get it off the Internet at a very good price.
  7. It was the worst thing that happened when they got a U.K. branch. Stuff was much cheaper from the States and usually didn’t take too long to arrive.
  8. I remember them they were as “cheap as chips but seemed to work alright. Availability didn’t last long though for whatever reason!
  9. New MK 38 grade 5 sporting forend for sale unused. Bought in error I was going to put it on an old trap gun but the fittings are wrong. £150
  10. At least those grasping types who cleared the shelves of toilet rolls will now have a better diet clearing them of fruit and veg!😀
  11. Would be interesting to know what percentage of the membership actually voted.
  12. Beretta xtrap 32”, 3/4 and full Excellent unaltered condition £800
  13. Can’t make head nor **** of it! Thought it was just me😀
  14. Goodnature traps are very good but expensive. I’ve been catching one or two mice a night through the winter with one.
  15. Not good - the old one was far better.
  16. Used it for years for general shotgun cleaning including all finishes of wood which come up brilliantly. If you live anywhere near Guns and Tackle at Whaplode, Lincs.,Cecil sells it at a really competitive price.
  17. Pigeon shooting can’t be guaranteed by the nature of the fact that they are wild birds. In the area I live recently there have been probably 1000 birds on one field of rape (not being shot at) and the next day nothing. There are ways of increasing the odds but to me not within the spirit of pigeon shooting. I’m afraid it’s alway going to be a bit of a lottery.
  18. Pity I don’t live closer to you I would have it.
  19. No it’s a major contributory factor. There was a convalescent home near us called Halmer Grange which was fantastic. My wife’s father had two spells in there to recover after operations. These type of establishments have been closed down all over the Country with nothing to replace them. No wonder we have a problem.
  20. Yes I think you are right the extractor was missing.
  21. We never got as far as price. I was thinking in the £30/£40 mark. Thanks for the link.
  22. Can’t take any more pictures as It’s gone back to the guy who let me have a look at it. Been keeping my eye open for a No 3 to deal with vermin around the garden. That one doesn’t seem to be what I thought it was.
