  1. D90 all the way, if you can squeeze out the extra cash, great camera. Never regretted getting it for a minute, good lense quality is essential of course, but you can't beat the d90 for that money I don't think personally. Put a sigma (bigma) 500mm on mine and it's the business if a bit heavy, but I use it for everything. Built in focus motor was a big deal for me. My dads got the d60 and it's great camera just a pain when you want to buy a cheaper lense. He just bought a nikor macro lense and it's very tricky to focus without the internal motor, especially as his hands not as steady as it used to be. Manual focus is a pain at best on fast moving subjects I find.
  2. Sold my scanner a few years back when they all went digital. I listen to the American police and fire service now, was listening to the weather trucks out on road back in hurricane season, was quite amazing (easily excited lol) You can listen online at www.radioreference.com or if you have a fancy phone you can get an app, that you can set to give you a buzz when a certain scanner gets loads of listeners 500+ usually means something bigs going on. All comes under freedom of information in America and the 1st amendment, so nice and legal. You should hear some of the American Ham radio repeaters, I've never heard a bunch of grown men be so abusive and childish to each other, like school yard bullys, properly picking on people.
  3. hi have you sold your hatsan

  4. ahh I've got all that bit, I know where the flight lines are.... pretty much... and certainly know what they're feeding on lol, was just wondering what the general feeling was on time to set up at this time of year. They seem all over the place at the moment with the weather. cheers for the advice though Thanks for the advice much appreciated that's pretty much what I thought, It seems to go dead after 10 at the moment, loads around, but not much movement, they seem very weary. I guess that they limit flight whilst food is scarce!?!? Is it worth making/buying a magnet for this time of year over rape? I'm currently getting a few in with 12-15 shell coys, but they seem really unpredictable with regards of patterns.
  5. Hi all! Might be a stupid question but, was wondering at this time of year, when do you set up your decoys in the morning, do you set them up first light or when it's still dark?? Thanks in advance.
  6. My bib and braces already have two holes in them after catching on very blunt bits of barbwire, stitching coming undone on the braces around the rubber/neoprene grip pads that are to stop them slipping, fabric wearing thin around the back and I use them once a week if that. Really not pleased they are definately going back. They are no better in quality in terms of fabric than any of the mid-priced stuff. Was going to buy a jacket aswell, but if this is anything to go by, not a chance. RUBBISH
  7. Will swap for BENNELLI SUPERNOVA (3.5" chambers) plus cash or a HUSHPOWER MOSSBERG .410 pump plus cash Need to sell, make me an offer, you never know!!.....nothing rediculous though please lol
  8. For Sale (unfortunately) my beloved Browning 325 grade 1 o/u ejector This gun is in excellent condition a couple of small marks on the wood that have been worked out before I bought it, but they are hardly noticeable. Barrels are in excellent condition, wood has been waxed and polished. Action is tight and stable. Includes full set of chokes and some different size triggers. Will be very sad to see it go, a fine example of a very well made gun, better than the 525 in many respects including build quality so I've been told and have read. CLICK FOR PICS CLICK FOR MORE PICS Norfolk £750 ONO Face to Face preferred, but other arrangements possible such as RFD at purchasers cost (though you'd have to guide me through it as I've never done it before) EDIT: 30" barrel 12 bore Willing to swap (see my last post)
  9. Marsh more than anything http://www.chuckhawks.com/shot_info.htm I see here it mentions Waterfowl (steel shot) * Geese - BBB, BB, 1 * Ducks (over decoys) - 2, 3, 4 * Ducks (pass shooting) - BB, 1, 2 I won't be shooting over decoys either.... well not with this box (100) if thats anything to go by?!?!
  10. Ah I think I see what you mean!! So do you think the size 1 36gram are fine for duck then? Yep have a new steel proofed gun, won't be taking the old browning unfortunately. Cheers for the quick reply.
  11. Hi all, I'm about to start a season of Wildfowling and I want to treat my quarry with the respect it deserve's so I thought I'd ask here and check that the carts I've bought are suitable. So in my head I had size 4/5 shot for duck (steel of course) and 3 or 2 for goose (mammoths) however... I explained this to the dealer that I was after these carts and he came back with mammoths 3 1/2" 42gram loads size 1 shot for the goose and mammoth 3" 36gram size 1 shot for ducks...... I questioned the latter and he said it was fine.... but are size 1 shot a bit over kill for ducks?? I was in a bit of a hurry plus the shop was packed and me being a newcomer to the sport and with the little knowledge I have I accepted this. Was I right to or am I going to be having duck pate rather than roast duck with these loads (sorry bad joke... I wouldn't use them if they where wrong)?? Anyway any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  12. Thanks for the reply whitebridges, I shall pop in and see chris when I get a chance.... nobody seems to know if its 100% safe, not even browning will be "crystal clear" on it, seeing as there not lined I might just pick up a cheap semi.... I need it for wildfowling so I maybe I'll be better off with a "cheapy" escort?!?!
