  1. You need to try them to see which you prefer. Not familiar with the CZ, but personally I'd take the T3 over the remington. I've got both. My T3 just handles better - the bolt is really slick and the triggers fantastic.
  2. Never liked the snappy recoil on 308 - MUCH nastier than my 30-06 which is just a much softer push. Any of the calibres you mention will be fine if your accuracies OK. If its not, you won't gain much from a heavier calibre. Another thing to consider is where you're going to shoot - check what calibres the land is signed off for. Don't assume .30 cal will be OK, it might not be.
  3. 50p each for .243 bullet heads never seen any that expensive Checkout Barnes TSX - last box i bought was £46 for 50!
  4. +1. Essential reading, Much of it won't apply to you and is easily skipped. But you need to be prepared to do some background work.
  5. Agreed. They sometimes ask for your FAC, but you should have no problems. Its also OK for it to be shipped back to you in the same way if the guns already on your ticket.
  6. I've got both but prefer n/e for clays which is about all I do - simple, works and saves bending down to pick the cartridges up. My n/e (1920s E J Churchill live pigeon ss) also seems much easier to open/close than the ejector - presumably one less spring to compress?
  7. How much do you want to spend? At least consider having omething built for you if you can afford it. Have a look at Pete Lincoln's site for example. http://www.roedale-psg.de/GB/index.htm I built a semi custom LH base on Remington 700 myself, which has worked reasonably well - but would have been better and cheaper going to someone like Pete L at the very start. 8. Agree entirely. I hardly ever use the tall harris now - its certainly not the best choice for prone - wobbly and uncomfortable. Use the low one. Or small light sandbag - I prefer this.
  9. I'm, left handed and use a friend's RH semi auto sometimes. Never had probs with burnt powder, but I can see how you might. I find it much more awkward than using an RH SS lefthanded - so wouldn't recommend buying a RH semi if you are lefthanded. Wait until you can afford a LH gun
  10. I'd go for the AYA - no 3 or 4 are nice traditional english style guns. Always remember using the Club Baikal O/U when I started out. Forend kept dropping off so you only ever got the first barrel!
  11. No idea on your budget. If I was looking for a smaller 4x4 I'd be looking at a Subaru - Legacy or Forester.
  12. I've had an AYA No 4 for years and like it a lot - certainly prefer to my Webley 900. You should be able to find one for around that money i would have thought - got a 20 in nice condition for my wife last year for £400.
  13. I had my old Webley Vulcan gas rammed and its been a big success - less recoil and much more accurate. Squirrels hate it. The old Vulcan is a brilliant little gun by the way.
  14. My KG cleaners arrived and I am very very impressed - a barrel I'd spent hours on with Bore Foam and Tetra without success is now perfectly clean - and took less than 1/2 an hour. KG12 just seems to eat through the copper in no time. I think the problem with any phosphor bronze brush with a decent copper remover is that the brush is likely to dissolve in the cleaner. Anway, clean gun now - thanks for the advice.
