  6. Hi guys, I'm selling my Unboxed and Unused gun cabinet due to not wanting to apply for my FAC any more. The cabinet is the exact same one from this website - http://www.thesafeshop.co.uk/products/4-6-rifle-safe-lock-top.html Cabinet is 2 months old from brand new and has never been even fitted to the wall. I bought the anchor bolts which will be included in the sale, but never got round to actually fitting the cabinet. Cabinet cost £220 brand new and im asking for £170 OVNO. No silly offers please. £50 saved straight away, for a brand new cabinet. Cabinet will have to be collected obviously due to the size of the thing and its weight. The dimensions are as follows •Rifle safe tested to BS7558:92. External: 1475 x 346 x 331mm (HxWxD) The cabinet conforms to all current standards and is 100% police approved. Both sets of keys will be incuided in the sale. Thanks, Tom.
  7. I wish it didnt take so long to get a FAC granted or I would have this! lol.
  8. Yeah I wasn't planning on getting one. I was just told to put it on the ticket because I may within the 5 years decide to get one. It also gives me an extra slot. But totally agree with the only take the shot if you can kill... Not up for bad sportsmanship/unethical shooting etc... ATB, Tom.
  9. OK, thanks for the information, Much appriciated. ATB, Tom.
  10. Thanks to all who replied. It seems that a lot of people own the CZ. Must meen its a good gun. I have been searching and I like the look of the thumbhole0 CZ varmint rifle. I have also been contemplating Maybe trying to get a hold of a Savage Arms MARK II BTVS, gun looks good and heared some great reviews of savage guns. As a rabbiting / occasional fox caliber, how does the .22-250 go? I've heared that its a very flat and fast round and very good for this type of thing? Whats everyones verdict and is it worth putting it down on my application rather than a .270 win that the shoot club owner suggested that I put down? Cheers, Tom.
  11. ...And before you ask, I did get the Super lite s410 with the deluxe gloss stock because it looks cool... ATB, Tom.
  12. Shooting is more than just having the right tool for the job. And no, Corvid, it isn't a wind up. And how can people consider paying £1000's for weapons they don't need? A £200 rifle will outshoot most people like colster mentioned, so why do people spend £1000's on a rifle alone when a £200 according to colster is ample? And to colster, When did I mention that guns were toys? I wouldn't be a full member at my shooting club if I though guns were toys. To some more than others, and I'm not including myself in this quote, shooting is a status symbol. When you asked do I want an effective tool and for it to look good, the answer is yes. So stop judging and concentrate on what the important thing is - shooting whatever you have to shoot at the time. If you don't like the nature of the conversation, don't converse. I'm not moaning but the views I experience are totally of my own opinion and If I want my kit to look good and work aswel, then thats my own buisness. If I can get 1/2 groupings at 50 yards (which I can), with my s410 air rifle hawke scope, when you can do it with a super expensive rifle and a Swar Z6i scope, then it doesn't matter about thinking whether I want my rifle to look cool. Like what has been mentioned, shooting equipment can out shoot most people. It depends on the shooter. And just to let you know, I do bunny bash. Guns don't kill people, Guns kill dinner. http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc223/woodypk/IMG_0510.jpg http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc223/woodypk/IMG_0512.jpg Yes it was mine, and yes I prepared it and cooked it. Tom.
  13. The guy sounds very wise. I really would like a nice scope but I would like a nice rifle too. I'll save up and see what I can get. I have see a £320 Hawke sidewinder which looks cool. I like the look of the large objective lenses. Makes the gun look beefy.
  14. wow thats the brand new prices? I payed more than that for just my s410 and filling pump ect... I think I'll get two. What do you use each for and what is SAK? ATB, Tom.
  15. Wow colster, Them guns look amazing. I wouldn't mind one of those puppies. What kind of price range are you looking at for rifles in that condition on the models in the picture?
  16. Any experiance of how long it takes for getting land cleared to shoot?
  17. Sounds good. What would be better for rabbit shooting .17HMR or .22LR. Is either more likely to have the land cleared to shoot?
  18. Yeah, I like the look of the CZ 452. I think its a nice looking gun. I would for some strange reason, love to have a 17HMR, .22lr and .22 hornet along with a .243 and a .308. My club owner has suggested 5 guns and they are the ones I want... I could swap the .22 horner for a 12g though.
  19. Hey guys, I'm in the process of getting my FAC and I'm interested in what guns people own and what they think about them. If you can be bothered (for my sake if you please), please post up the names (and possible pics if you have them) of 3-5 of your fave guns and what you love about them and or what they lack. I really need some ideas about great guns for general rabbit and the ocasional fox shooting and target shooting. I am also generaly interested what types of guns people own too as I think they are great to look at. So look forward to seeing peoples arms (bullet ones not limbs... ). ATB, Tom.
  20. Thanks to everyone who has posted. Unfortunately Gimlet, I can only afford the bottom end scopes ATM. I'm saving up for a first rifle. I Really don't need to scope TBH, but a new toy is great for playing with haha. Ill try and get a look through as many scopes as possible and decide from there. ATB, Tom.
  21. OK, Thanks for the reply chris, I'd like to see what a high mag scope looks like viewing wise. Then I can see how much I don't need it haha. So saying that, Nikko do a Laserking scope which uses a laser pointer built into the scope, would this be more practical or am I just being daft trying to find something different and fancy? ATB, Tom
  22. Hey guys, Since I've joined my local club, I've absoloutly got the shooting bug and I took my missus with me and she loves it too. The problem is, I've seen a new scope I like the look of but do I really need it? Its a Nikko Stirling Platinum Nighteater and its a 10-50x60. I'd be using it for 25m target and 50m target air rifle and 100m target FAC rifle when I get my fac. I also rabbit shoot some wheekends, not to often, so could I really justify buying it. I really want a high mag scope but I just dont know If its too high for what I need it for. I love the look of large objective lense scopes and the sidewheel with the sunshade etc, but would it be a waste of £250 for 25, 50, 100m target and rabbit shooting? I have a 3-12X50 scope atm but really want much more magnification for the target shooting. If anyone has any experience with this scope, please join in the thread, Thanks, Tom.
