  1. I have no outlet for them so unfortunately they are left to feed the local wildlife. I shoot purely for crop protection and farmer is happy with that.
  2. After shooting my personal best on Thursday, farmer called to say that the pigeons were still on the wheat. So I decided to have another look yesterday. I set up at 12pm and there wasnt many birds about but I hoped they would switch on later. By 6pm I was going to pack in so I had a count up and had 93 birds , so obviously I had to stay and get the 100 which I did pretty quickly. 7pm and the magic switch was turned on , the birds needed to feed and every bird dropped into the decoys with determination. I couldnt get away and shot the last bird at 8.45pm , finishing on 168. Another fantastic day 😁
  3. I was hoping to get out for another day this week but the forecast is horrendous, its thunder and lightning now. There are still loads of birds hitting the wheat , farmer will be pulling his hair out.
  4. I couldnt shoot for days on the trot at my age , my legs are still acheing after the other day.🀣 Was hoping for another day this week but the weather is shocking all week , rain and thunderstorms.
  5. Tell me about it I had to carry all my gear to get set up on the laid patch. I took 200 cartridges to start with but shot them in around 4 hrs so had to go back to the motor for my last 150 which I shot off in the next 2 hrs when the birds were literally suicidal. Packing up picking up the shot birds and my hide etc must have taken 1 1/2 hours. Still loads of birds but the weather forecast is terrible all week.
  6. The patch I shot was only about 20 yds square but they wanted it. Shame I ran out of cartridges as they were still piling in after I finished. I could easily have shot over 300 but by then I was knackered, dont know how these dove shooters in Argentina fire 1000s of cartridges.
  7. Got a call from a farmer saying the pigeons are on the wheat. So arrived around 12pm today and got set up on a laid patch. Started shooting immediately and only stopped at 6pm when I ran out of cartridges. Shot 264 for 350 cartridges. I have never seen woodies decoy as well , it was manic at times with red hot barrels. When I packed in they were still piling in. F
  8. See them all over inland , loads around the Durham Moors and surrounding areas.
