  1. They have trouble whacking them acorns down either!
  2. In all my 30 yrs of pigeon shooting I,ve never taken any bag on growing green beans!! Well done
  3. been watching a field of rape for the past 2 weeks, and theres been a steady build up of numbers appearing tbe feeding on it for the best part of the day.the only way you can get at these birds is getting the farmer to plant me some bales in the middle of the field., which he duly obliged earlier in the week. saturday has came so had the rain and not a breath of wind. i waited till 10.30 for the rain to ease and off i went.on turning up about 100 birds were busy feeding and very reluctant to leave. i set up a net in the front of the bale hide set up the rotary with 2 birds out of the freezer and 4 plastics and set back for the battle to comnence. birds came immediately and did so for the next 3 hrs in groups of between 5-10. every bird determined to fet in the deeks. pulled sticks at 2.45 and picked up 115 .. been a while since i, ve had birds so detemined to get on the deeks even after a shot birds kept coming to the deeks from about 150 yds away . lets hope this is the start of a good winter.
  4. still might be worth ago, ive had afew good bags on recently ploughed stubbles
  5. i did think that, but i think they have been on it too long, also one of the fields was kale last year
  6. been watching pigeons on land i dont have permission on and pigeons hae been feeding on rape in there hundreds for 3wks now, earliest i,ve known for years
  7. same here mate, wheat stubbles have about half a dozen on them with hardly any traffic, but saying that last week i set up on two days like this and shot a 40 and a 50. but not once have i seen a wheat stubble this year teaming with birds
  8. i had two days back to back about 5 yrs ago, first day 101 second day 221 on laid oats. never had any luck on oats since
  9. ive found its quite low on there menu but saying that afew years ago i did have 2 back to back days on oats totalling over 300 birds
  10. bit the bullet yesterday as heavy rain was forecast on and off allday. decided to go at 12.30 setting up on a field of flat green wheat, conditions were ideal overcast and windy,i put out the magnet with 2 birds and i was pulling woodies straight away,2.45pm and my clicker is showing 42 and still no rain.pigeons moving all day in small groups, things slowed right down at about 5.30 and i decided to pull stumps 102 picked and all dry.
  11. i think iwould be quite happy with 80 for 128, how many do you reckon to get from 128 shots? k
