  1. Hello all Hope you are all having better luck than i am, getting to grips with them old woodies It all started off so well - found a good looking patch, walked them off (as you do), then them coming back in nice dribs & drabs (as they should). Once I'd got the hide and other essentials sorted (flask, sarnies and whirly!), a pair came in straight away, nailed one of them, followed by a single, nailed him as well. By this stage I was getting all excited, and wished i'd come earlier. Then i bet you can't guess what happens next, Ok i'll tell you, not a thing for the next 2 hrs. Kept saying to myself there was too many on here initially, surely some have got to come back? Bet none of you fellow woody bashers have thought, or said that to yourselves! Any way to get to the point decided to give my ferrett mate a buzz, yes no probs lets go 4 it he said. I knew where there was some good sets so we stuck the old hob down out come 2 beauties, then we move on... bet you can't guess wot happened next?! I'll let you all have a think about it, then I'll tell u 2 morrow. No exaggerating please! Smokey Oakey and not 4 getting poor ole Lizzie (woodie widow)
  2. Hello Frank, Pee Jay I shot the fox with my Remington B.D.L.243 which has got a 8x56 Schmidt & Bender scope using an 80 grain Federal Classic bullet, it was only about 45 yards away so i could see it clearly, I'll see if i can wiz a picture of the old trout Peejay just for you.
  3. Hi all Many thanks to Axe for posting the pictures, and i'd like to thank you all for compliments, afraid I'm not the world champion snooker player, just a silly old b*gger from a small village in Northamptonshire. S'pose i'm a lucky sod really got a young girlfriend who, like me luvs the countryside, beating, shooting making blackberry brandy & wotnot, catching crayfish and cooking all we catch or shoot. Even got a little smoker for the old trout etc, for a nice summers evening, what more can a man want. When we were out lamping and saw the whitey fox we daredn't shoot it because we weren't sure what it was even though it acted just like a fox. We took the filter of the lamp and could see it quite clearly but we still couldn't make up our minds up. A couple of hours later we saw it again coming down a hedge so we just parked up didn't sqeak or nothing just a quick glance for location and it came right up to us leaving no doubt it was a charlie. 17. Ok Lads / Lasses i get the drift. Sorry iv'e not replied or placed the correct info in the 1st place i'm a busy (old) boy. No I'm not an anti, and for some strange reason seem to be getting among them woodies in October, me and another Gazza another shooting buddie bagged 366 (a record) for me on sat 29/10/05. iv'e got all the photo's on my phone, just got to find out how to wiz them over to the forum.
  18. Hi all a shooting buddie and i had the misfortune to bag 300+ woodies on some disced bean stubble to the apparent disgust of SOME of the fellow pigeon shooters in Northamptonshire. we needn't have shot that many as they weren't doing any harm we have been informed (any ideas of the cut off point ) Needless to say we daredn't tell anybody we shot 200+ last week on barley stubble. All this and i have also been taken to Spain by my girlfriends parents, what a terrible month October is. Smokey& Blossem
