  1. Mossberg 835 ulti-mag 12 gauge 3.5inch chamber moderate choke fitted £400 ono
  2. I still have all the .PDF files on hard drive several diferant shotshell & metalic reloading manuals plus panflets isued over the years by powder manufacturers as well as other bits and bobs
  3. The rule of thumb when plastic wads first appeared on the scene was to reduce the powder charge by 10% so working the other way is the same (in principle/theory) from plastic to fiber increase powder by 10%. I did this with a Chedite recipe from Lymans 5th page 128 rated at 9000psi and substituting the primer for a remington 209STS(this is all I could get at the time):- Case-------------Gamebore Velocity (Chedite) Primer------------Remington 209 STS Powder-----------Red Dot 23 grains Over powder----Nitro Card 2mm Wad---------------Fiber 24mm Shot---------------1oz No6 lead Six star crimp This comes close to 2 recipe's, one listed in Lymans Ideal Handbook No38 Circa 1960's & also one listed in Alcans reloading manual Circa 1960's both running at 24 grains as powder weight. I also have this for a 3/4oz load;- Case--------------Gamebore White Gold Primer------------Remington 209 STS Powder-----------Red Dot 21 grains Over Powder----Nitro Card 4mm Wad--------------Fiber 20mm + 2 X 2mm nitro cards Shot--------------3/4oz No6 lead Over shot card Six star crimp I did have quite a bit of fiber data but had a hard disk failure last year so still trying to extract it from the old disk as well as downloading it all again, it is out there but it takes a while to find, hope the above helps. Cookoff on here deals with a lot of fiber loads and is a font of information.
  4. It can be a bit hit and miss with them at the moment as they havant had many FEO's of late due to some leaving or being sacked, I sent them an email on the 27th of December informing them of my new address, I wasn't contacted until the 12th of February to arrange a visit to inspect my new security and give me my new certificates
  5. Hi Snow White is this:- http://www.siarm.com/product_info.php?cPath=2_24_33_57&products_id=120 what you are looking for??
  6. This may be of interest to you http://www.ballisticproducts.com/Super-Crown-Crimper-Large-Bore-6-Point/productinfo/0740006/ a bit cheaper but not sure of shipping cost??
  7. I used them on rabbits out one evening when I ran out of 6's ok at 30-35 yards (through a tight 1/2 choke) but wouldn't advocate it as sparse pattern (surprisingly not much meat damage, still good for the pot). Also good for steel plates at PSG.
  8. Or how about theses ?? http://www.siarm.com/index.php?cPath=2_25_37_46
  9. Very well made guns(both SBS & O/U) all be it very agricultural in looks & build, can be short in the stock though. I regret the day I sold mine
  10. Here is an extract from a sheet I am slowly putting together from various sources on the net (that may be of use to you) e.g FSK/C&G etc reference fibre & card loads (Copied & pasted) also a page of data from the Ideal hand book No38 showing heavy loads using Red Dot, I havn't used any of the loads yet other than the red dot ones :- Data I have: (CG CD v9, 18 months old) Both use CX2000 primers, fibre wads, 70mm PT tubes and vectan A1, but lead weights vary: 1) 27 gr A1, CX2000, 3mm OP, 21mm fibre, 3mm felt, 28g 2.4mm size 7 shot, extrap muzzle V 1203 fps, 464.8 bar 2) 26 gr A1, CX2000, 3mm OP, 18mm fibre, 36g 3.3mm size 3 shot, eMV 1083fps, 646.5 bar There is also a CX50 formula without an OP card - can anyone explain?? 3) 26 gr A1, CX50, 21mm fibre, 5mm cork, 32g 2.3mm size 7.5 shot, eMV 1243 fps 549 bar but uses CX50, which I have also. The shot size conversions are mine, in italics. 12g 70mm PT hull CX2000 Primer 24gr Vectan A1 4mm 12g Nitro Card 17mm 12g fibre Wad 32g No6 Shot 6 point Crimp And then the following – 12g 70mm PT hull Fioochi 616 21 Grains Of Red Dot 1/4’’ Over Powder Card 15/16’’ Fibre Wad 1/8’’ Cork 7/8oz Of No7 * 12 Gauge * Fibre wad 70mm Case. 11. Dont know anything about the Remi 887 nitromag but the Supernover is a very good gun several of the lads at the club have them, have you also considered a Mossberg 535 or 835 Ultimag, both guns steel proofed/3.5 inch chambered with the 835 being backbored ?
  12. I personally have no hangups, I am at home with what ever configuration of gun I choose to use at any time, it was just an observed comment as there have been some incidences of shooters being approached by the police due to worried phone calls from the public reported in the shooting press over the years. If he wishes to use it in the field then so be it, if he finds it to be as practical as a more traditional configuration. As above, I was not DE-CRYING OP I was mearly making an observed comment!! I did start my reply with "Nice Gun" as the AR platform does appeal to me in many caliber's. Yes it is the OP's choice as long as it is within the law, very correct. I was not aware they were available in the UK yet, but I stand corrected
