  1. In the photo showing the alpacas above the chickens are in the 3 wooden huts on the left and in all the wire compounds to the left of them.
  2. The alpacas are in a separate compound away from the chickens but on the same farm.
  3. Sending you a P.M now Frenchieboy. Limited Foxing experience only ever shot 1 and I stumbled across him by accident would like to learn how to stalk / locate them and read the land so to speak.
  4. Have been asked to sort out a pest Fox on a Chicken farm today. Not alot of land approx 12 acres but nice to gain another permission. basically the lady has had a Fox regularly paying the chickens a visit and he is becoming quite a pest now and she believes it/they are taking a couple a day. It has been seen a number of times watching the chickens in the day and even been seen jumping over a stable door to gain access to easy pickings inside. Lots of chickens there and a herd of mixed colored alpacas! 1st time I had seen anything like it today. On walking the boundaries I did not see any Fox but plenty of deep holes in the woods and there is clearly a large rabbit population as well so Mr Fox is onto something good and will be keen to keep an eye on this property I reckon. And top tips for what to look out for when trying to find where they are coming from etc. Just looked like large rabbit holes to me today. I know Foxs are creatures of habit but she did not have any accurate timings for them as they are fairly regular. Be nice to put an end to the chickens misery there. She lost about 15 last week. Many thanks in advance Tris
  5. Cheers guys going to ring the Firearms Department tomorrow and see what they say.
  6. I have held my FAC for a number of years now and have various calibres from .22 to .223 but I still have a restricted FAC stating on land as cleared by the chief of police or words to that effect. I have had a number of calls recently asking for my assistance to clear a Fox that is being a pest on land a few miles from my permission in some gardens where some friends keep chickens and ducks and surrounding grounds, These gardens are in the countryside not in a domestic area and of course I would like to help out but I am aware of the current restriction on my FAC. Is it simply a case of ringing the Firearms department and explaining the situation to them and request that they issue me with an Open ticket to enable me to control the foxs within my FAC. Of course I do not want to go up there and sort the foxs out and shoot outside of the rules on my FAC so I would like to get it opened up prior to attending the property to help out. I intend to visit the above ground this weekend to assess the ground for safe backstops etc. Many thanks Tris
  7. Very sad that you have decided to leave I do not visit the forum often enough but I have always enjoyed your posts. All forums have a feeling of good/bad times. I look back on my time served in the forces and say the recruits coming through now are right scroats and 'its changed' however when I joined I expect the older fellas then were saying the same thing! Rather than leaving as many have said stay and guide the younger members who don't have the knowledge into being more mature and knowledgeable shooters without the guidance they will continue on their current course and by leaving YOU are allowing shooting to take a turn for the worst by doing nothing..
  8. ^ As above the piece you have dugout is made of polymer and is there to assist the lead in mushrooming it doesn't fragment itself as far as I understand it just provides a hard surface for the rear of the bullet to fragment round. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plastic_tipped_bullets Bit contradictory there but my impression is that it is driven into the bullet causing the lead to mushroom.
  9. As above £16 Each posted within UK P.M me for payment details.
  10. This whole case has stank of a set-up from day 1 though really. Be a pretty stupid bloke to have tried to get away with it. I expect it was consensual and then she has lied to frame him or stitch him up.
  11. Massive difference in prices here for the blue tip Hornady!
  12. He will be well chuffed you trust him and let him go without flapping too much. It will make him feel good about himself and feel more independant. Some top advice above just make sure he knows he can call you if he needs you and remain on standby
  13. Being a Diver I use Kent Diving for bottles brand new. Secondhand just keep an eye on Ebay for one in date for test
  14. Made me chuckle for some time. Fortunately I shoot with my wifes brother and she has always tolerated it long before we got married. I got her brother into shooting when we 1st met and its been spot on since. She has even sat in the hide with me and spent a day decoying. She loves eating what I bring home and she even walks the land with me. Always been a country girl into her horses etc so a bit more in touch with a natural way of life. My argument is always that it had a better life in the wild than packaged out of Morrisons. She knows they all meet a quick sudden death
  15. I would love to see some of the entries. I'd invite them to an interview just to find out more about this so called hobbie
  16. I expect your reason for being concerned is that they may start taking a 'friend' and then before you know it there are people shooting the farm you had to work hard to get onto that you or the farmer dont even know. Best to keep it how it is so you have an eye on what is going on and as the farmers representative the ground is controlled.
  17. Sadly I think cartridge prices are like fuel prices as long as people keep paying it them it gives them ground to continue raising the price. If people are willing to pay a certain price it sets a new price level across the country. Just like the oil greed it spreads. If everyone starting buying a certain cartridge the other suppliers would be forced to reduce the prices to attract customers but that is never going to happen. End of the day they know they have us cornered. Sad situation though when 1000 Cartridges are £200+ now. I remember when they were about £80
  18. Now £16 Each not reducing anymore on these. Cannot get anymore so these are the last ones fellas unfortunately. P.M me for payment details.
  19. Top man. Gurkhas are the Daddies
  20. I found some HMR debris last week not unusual if you hit bone. 200Mtrs+ is quite a distance
  21. If you are next on the list to be processed just hang in there and be patient. If it is your 1st Centrefire then I'd expect it to possibly take longer than usual. How long ago was the land cleared for .243? You may find they will insist on a mentor initially if it is your 1st centrefire
