  1. That's answered something I was wondering too, mine also has a 64 before the main serial number. Thanks for the information.
  2. Can't help with the early one's mines a 70's webley mark 2 version, cracking guns to shoot love the curiosity value it brings to the clay ground. S
  3. Mine has a "c" for steel receiver, welcome to the classic browning club, strip it at least once just to make sure everything is OK also check the locking square on the barrel to make sure it's not cracked, it happened on one of my barrels, enjoy.
  4. Hi is the browning automatic info for a Auto 5 if so what do you have ref the auto 5
  5. Got the friction ring set up sorted, found a U. S. tip apparently they use a dab of heavy motor oil on the friction ring to give it more drag when it's cycling. What a humanitarian, but I think I'll pass lol
  6. So picked up a old Auto 5 at the shooting show, took it out last week and gotta say I was well impressed, hardly missed a clay (which is unusual for me) really liked the feeling of the whole recycling process the gun did kick a little more than modern semi autos but I like that characteristic. I also have a 50's Double Automatic and they are chalk and cheese when it comes to recoil. So in the learning process now about my new classic, any of you chaps got any hints and tips regarding these guns. Cheers
  7. So tried mine last Saturday everything seemed to work fine but after downloading the images it appears my micro sd card was corrupt. The Aimcam only recorded 1 one and a half minute video all the rest were 5 seconds long. So went to Maplin Sunday morning and bough a new 32gd class 10 micro sd card took the dogs for a walk in the woods did about 20 small 1 minute videos and all work perfectly. So will have to try again when the snow dissappears and do another set of videos. Will get back to you soon. Mine cast £169 at the show as opposed to £239 I think, all in all happy with the product.
  8. Bought one at the shooting show chap did mention the new version but this version seemed to have everything I needed, Will be testing it tomorrow, set it up at home and seems to be working fine
  9. Picked up a lovely classic browning A5 from Cheshire Gun Room stand to add to my classic gun collection, reduced from £395 to £195 bargain although I think £395 would be optimistic. Also got a Aim cam setup, will be testing this on Saturday and some snazzy 12gauge cufflinks. Definitely a better place to be and nice to see our sport so well attended. For me it was a positive day roll on the midland game fair and next year's show.
  10. Yes I believe in stripping every gun I own and understanding the workings also as I like classic guns you never know what lies beneath. As you said it gives you a lot of satisfaction knowing you've done it yourself
  11. Got a 50,s double automatic with 2 barrels both 28" vented ribs full and 3/4 choke cartridge size is critical as they are only made for 2 3/4. Totally stripped and cleaned mine to every part great old gun to use at the clay ground
  12. I have a later Webley GP MK11 great guns to shoot strip it at least once just to check everything is in order and lube they recommend not stripping unless necessary as they are so well built check out martini Neil on YouTube he has some good videos. Hope you buy it,cheers
  13. Nice, looks in great condition, you gotta strip it down at least once, if only to clean out gunk from years of use. However it does say don't strip unless you have to, but I couldn't resist it on mine, just for my own piece of mind and to make sure everything was OK. Great gun it's good to have classics at the range.
  14. browning 425 32 inch with Teague extended choked 33 inch in total any nearer to the clay I could bat them with the barrels lol
