  1. Is this still available? live in Erdington Birmingham happy to put some money in charity box, in fact have organised charity shoot in a few weeks time so will put money in this
  2. update since last posting he has had his tackle removed. just off to first training class at local mut club. Lets see if they allow him back!lol
  3. Thanks for all the reply's. Using the booklet from shooting times as the basis, going to check out a training class this afternoon (basic obedience), done on a weekly basis with a view to join Coventry gun dog club and do there 10m week course next spring. To be fair he is a dog that is eager to please, not expecting or wanting a champion just a mate to take shooting, I think with a bit of effort he'll get there.
  4. Thanks for replies, was going to start with Coventry Gundog club but missed out for this year, didn't think about local mut training club, looked on line and plenty around, so I'm thinking do this to get basics and then go to gundog club next year when next years classes start. What are peoples thoughts to me and partner both training? wanting to do this because I'm a gun on the shoot so she will do most of beating with dog, but longer term I will take pigeon and bushing, so need it used to both of us. On his walk surprised me, he's a sod to get the slip on, he comes close then runs off thinking its a game, today opened 4x4 back door and in he jumped first time!
  5. Not out of car but out of house twice in 1 week! Live in Birmingham and partner in Oxford with work for 4 days, so a nice after work drive for me. 2 days later, walked dog same again, fortunately partner back in Brum but in a meeting, so 2.5 hrs later call was returned. Luckily I had picked 4x4 keys up so dog was happy with extended additional walk. Been saying since we moved in December we need to get some spare cut and left with a mate, still not done it.......

    Bloody typical

Thought there would be more abuse lol. Idea for pigeon would work on the shoot, but not on the farm (saying that pigeons on the shoot seem to be an endangered species). Didn't think trout would be a goer in this, didn't think there would be much fly hatches, but like I said never did done it before. that said maybe wait until its a bit nicer, so I enjoy my first session! Yes can't argue with the girl title though!! drying off after dog walk drinking tea watching fishing on tellie, so not all bad.
  7. Thanks mate, have done, was just reading through before posting this and to be honest excellent advice, just wanted comments/ opinions. ta Ogi

    Bloody typical

Extra day off work, partner working, was going to go pigeon shooting has farmer said newly laid seeds just starting to get hit and hey oh chucking it down and is going to all day. Other option was to try fly fishing for first time, again rain but pay to that. Might say I'm soft but pigeons don't play out in rain (not after a few sunny days), and although not experienced don't think this would be any good for the fishing, dry line. Mind you, might go spinning for perch, mmmmm So going to walk dog for a couple of hrs, dry off and finish ceiling in garage, at least partner will be happy. Moan over, I bet all those reading this at work are thinking b£%^dy t&&%%r, moaning with a day off work! To be honest good point well put! But when your looking forward to these things.... Ogi
  9. Hi All Got myself a black lab a few weeks ago, rescue dog, he was left 13 hrs a day and didn't really get walked. He has settled in pretty well, to say we have only had him a short time, starting his training and fortunately shooting times had a good pull out section on basics which isn't a bad starting point. partner thinks she has been conned! We were getting a springer but in the end she changed her mind after everyone said labs are calmer, well Baz seems not to have been told! got to be honest, she is doing better than me with him! don't know if its because Baz had a women owner or my partner is just more patient. Anyway couple of question; Has anyone had success with anti bark collars, neighbours told us yesterday that when we put him out when we go to work he barks and cries for a couple of hrs, obviously don't want to upset the neighbours. He pulls like a mad un (never been trained), currently using the slip lead as a kind of choke chain (bit gentler I think than the metal ones used when I was a kid), is this the right way forward? Been told them halty things does stop them pulling but doesn't train them, is this right? Is both me and my partner training him going to slow things? We are both using same commands and discuss things, just think he will be used for different things, so we both need him working for us. Finally, and I know its finger in air question, he's 14 months old, if we work on his basics all summer, do you think he'd be ok beating this season (will leave it before I expect him to wait in the hide to retrieve). Long post but thanks in advance, I have my ideas but want a range of opinions! Ogi
  10. Not wanting to nick Lakesides thread but thanks from me too, the posts have answered all the questions I had about this rifle, having one bought for me too! Thanks Ogi
  11. First let me qualify that family law and finance arn't my areas and my advice would be to see a suitably qualified solicitor of family law and or CAB (good luck getting a apointment) or simlar, but from the area of law I do know and using what is transeferable; My question is, if she manages to get the documentation she wants, am I in any way entitled to claim half of the mortgage payments for the last two years from her as it is still in her name too? Simple answer is no, if you had defaulted you would have both been liable and should you sell at this point and make a profit you would have strong grounds for subtracting your payments since you seperated from the money to equity to be divided (if all CSA or maintance paymentsare up to date). She would struggle to get her name of the mortgage without your consent until the tie in period of the mortgage was up. As some have said get the advice from someone suitably qualified. All the best. Wine preference

red if not with food, red or white with food, not too fruity with either. Unfortunatly still not quite feeling right from last night 3 pints cider and 1 1/2 bottles of Rioja, year ago would have woke up feeling fine but have cut down a lot and now get damn hangovers, never did when drinking heavily! Master of wine just started a work, so going to get recomendations off him every weekend and stop drinking the same Rioja Gran famila from co-op (it is nice though). Right.....shower and off to pub
