That's funny I spoke to an Expert recently in a gun shop, and I asked him about the muzzle energy comparison between a regular round and Stingers (which are said to be Very in-accurate. He told me that they, both have the same muzzle energy , The stinger is 20 grains lighter than a standard round and carries the same power as an ordinary subsonic. Velocity * Grains = M.E would the rest of you agree? I would have to agree with you, At first I thought (hmm YEAH.... RIGHT....) And I bet a UFO flew over your house too, But I soon realized I was arrogant, After I spoke to local police and several other gun shops, I found several articles on the news and net, as Crainfield says too many credible people have reported them. The story I got from the police is that many rich Idiot's bought these cats as pets (status simbles) during the 80's, ofcorse they soon got to much for their keepers to handle, so they released them into the countryside.

http://www.compfused.com/directlink/485/ i know this isnt the same animal, but it isnt far off, And id guess he is using atleast a 357 or 45. you will note that this makes the cat rather angry.

Idiots being knocked over by big gun (videos).

oops sorry, just wondered if anyone else had more to add -
First things first, I know this gives the sport a bad name, and i know is not responcible or sencible, I would never give someone a huge cal gun to fire knowing full well it would send them flying and Video it But I can't help but Laugh when i see clips like these. Im not encouraging this type of thing, im not saying its ok, Let this be a leason to less experienced shooters, if someone offers you a go on a really big gun, let someone else fire it first... Well hes not a lad, hes actualy rather old I would say 70+ and claims to have been shooting 50 years. he called me an in experienced lad, after i stated. "if you shoot that thing with that, its going to rip you ten new ***'s before you can blink."
-
You put it so much more elequently than I did , but he says "Lad your to in experienced to know what your talking about" Im hoping this feedback will convince him, so that I don't come across his half eaten corpse somewhere on the shoot, with a rather large seriously p****d off big cat near by
-
I know this sounds a little (wacked), but several of the other shooters claim to have seen this large puma or mountain lion, in their lamps (eyes reflect orange), Now im a little skeptical of this and don't want to look a **** for posting about it... But one of the guys has got this idea into his head that he is going to bring the thing down with a 22 rimfire, with an Eye shot. I personaly feel this is a rather stupid thing to attempt given the calibur & accuracey limitations of his rifle , but he refuses to listen. I have tried to explain to him why this would be the biggest mistake of his life. but to no avail I don't want to see the man get eaten. So I, wondered if some of you more experienced shooters might give some feed back that I can print off for him to read. Regards mimic.

*****, only your pride Give it time

yeh they are pritty rare its more comon in firearms but even then its mostly only old style muskets n things, not something you see often, certainly extreamly few airguns with that type of stock do you know the actual word for it?
-
No they wont fill our bottles without a test , But We fill our guns and that is exactly what im getting at there is no test for the gun , now i know the pcp tank isnt as big and isnt gunner do as much damage but i reacon it could atleast blow off a hand or posibly worse
-
It pays to think when dealing with 3000psi, Time bomb isnt a bad way to put it They must have a shelf life, like anything , the question is how long?. How quickly could wet salt air or bad air corrode a gun?. if its second hand whos to say what quality air its had?. One anser is certain I dont want to be on the business end of a tank falure
-
Well thats alot less worrying, as the bottle could have been any age....... but i must ask why is an airgun bottle be treated diferrent when it comes to testing? surely there is a set standard for all divers bottles?
-
Not strictly true. E.G. aas410k (carbine). I am not certain when a rifle becomes a carbine but generally it is just a shorter version of the "classic" length. Im not certain either, Iv always taken it that the stock will run under the barrel right upto the muzzel, for example the sheridan Cb9 Id call a full length carbine. but im not sure that is the right word for it?, The dictionary gives it as a 'small light rifle'.
-
Carbine - The Stock Extends to muzzel Tip, Normaly this is a short cut down version of a rifle But there are also many full length Carbines. PCP - The gun is powered by its own internal compressed air tank. If you want an easy compromise you might consider C02 Guns, some of them can diliver full legal power with a lil tuning , there is no pumping and no scuba bottles , You just buy conveniant little bulbs and use them as you need them. Smk Xs78 / Xs79 Qb78 Ab/79 many other cheap airsorce an powerlet guns available

Hi all, A subject has come to mind that i would like to find out more on. I recently read of some problems with divers bottles... a lad with 18 month old cylinder , failed its test now i understand that these things do wear out, but this seemed to me to be an extreamly quick time for something to become unsafe, i have known bottles to last many more years than this. It was explained on the thread that hydrolic testing does weaken the bottles , this i do accept But i have known many bottles put up with a hell of alot more tests than that. mine is pritty old an been tested many many times. This has rasied a Red flag Something must have damaged that tank, and i dont think it was the hydrolic tests Two things spring to mind Salted or saline air (seaside air) or Damp air , and i wonder does presure affect the rate at wich things corrode?? now to the tittle PCP tanks.... if it did that to his Divers bottle in that little time then what the hell did it do to the inside of his gun? I am conserned because i see apparent wisps of What apears to be a grey vapour when i fire my guns, and im conserned something bad maybe happening inside With there being nothing more than the orginal manafactures test verification for the guns PCP tanks I find myself wondering just how safe are these things?
