  2. Well i went back to the same spot today. Only had two hour's spare before i had to take daughter to a dance comp. Set up the same as yesterday. Nowt happend for a hour then two maggie's landed just behind my deek's shot one missed one. then about 15 pigeon's came in, I got two of them, [first time iv'e hit two for two.]Got another two single's after that, then had to go. The daughter came third in her comp,so happy all round. Not a great bag when i look at some on here, but it's my first year at the pigeon's.

  7. Went out at 1pm yesterday. Set out on the corner of a rape field, 15 shell's and a couple of bouncer's. Been watching this spot on a few afternoon's out with the HMR. it.s next to a sitty tree that they use 'seen them dropping on this corner regularly. Got the hide up and deek's out. It started to p*** down the second i sat down. Sat for 3 hour's in the rain, not a pigeon in the sky. The only bird's that came near the deek's were two partridge and a lapwing. When i got home soaked, cleaned my gun,got a shower the missus said were you to stuborn or to stupid to come home? I could'nt decide. Make your own conclusion's.

  14. I admit that i was looking to shoot rook's as part of my sport,But when i gained permission to shoot this land the farmer asked me to shoot as many rabbit's pigeon's rat's and crow's as i could. He said crow's, and magpie's, I wrongly or rightly assumed this included rook's. I'll ask him at the weekend. If rook's are the good guy's of the corvid family as you say, I'll leave them to it. Thank's kent for the info i am learning everyday and try to get out with more experienced shooter's as often as i can.
  15. I think this is a great offer for the lad's who have no pemmision,to try some hunting.
  16. The rook's are already coming on our land were two new pond's were dug out. the ground around them has been re-seeded. I don't know if they are eating the seed or just the bug's. this is were i was thinking of decoying them, but if it's not the done thing I'll just leave it.
