  1. That is the thing. Good ones are getting hard to find. I’ve always fancied a Grand European, Lovely looking guns. My mate managed to pick up a mint, almost unused 8500 for £350 so there some bargains about.
  2. I’ve got a 1981 price list and a Grand European was £853. Makes it over £3100 today with inflation
  3. Was indeed. Steve is about 5 mins from me and he’s a brilliant guy to deal with. They had this one and the fc one but they sold that one before they persuaded me into this one.
  4. The only ones I have seen have all been winchoke as well. My mate has just about a 8500 trap which is choked full and X full and shoots very nicely. I’m not sure if any internal changes but the leaflet I have for “the 86 winchesters” basically remarks about the stock dimensions being revised, a big emphasis on balance and handling, the adjustable trigger and the flush rather than extended winchokes.
  5. The deluxe is very nice! Looking at proof marks this one was proofed 1986. I believe they are impossible to date via the serial numbers as most records have been lost, destroyed or not disclosed?
  6. I would have to agree with you there. There doesn’t seem to be a great deal for sell, especially the 6500’s. I know they were not sold for many years. People must have them safely tucked away somewhere? Ladds guns currently have a nice 5500 30” sporter for sale
  7. Thanks for the comments. I sold a 101 and super grade last year and missed having a classic Winchester. This one was new ATA money.
  8. Good evening all, I know there are some avid classic Winchester fans on here so thought I would share my latest purchase here. 30” Winchester 6500 sporter m/c. Very nice gun with superb handling, for me comes up and handles nicer than my g5 725 sporter. Can’t wait to get out and give it a try.
  9. Hi PPP, not sure if you have anybody near yourself that stock these but they are very good for the money, they also do the “special” in 32g fibre #5 for little more. 👍🏻
  10. Lovely little gun, I just don’t use it enough to justify keeping it. Hard to find a good one these days! Pm me if you’d like me to email me more detailed images of it. 👍🏻
  11. Reduced to £750 to make way for a new purchase. I believe these Winchester offer superb value for money, will be sad to see it go!
  12. Good morning, looking for £80 for it. If you pm me your email address I can send photos some more photos later
  13. Hi guys, this is my gun for sale. Also have a period Winchester hard canvas case that I can sell along side. Having a bit of a clear out. Happy to email more detailed pictures across at any time! Many thanks
  14. Hi all, looking for a Winchester hard case. Older style one not the new hard plastic ones. Would ideally like the canvas one in the attached photo. Kindest regards
  15. Only selling as I've bought a very nice super grade, if it doesn't sell soon enough I'll probably end up keeping it
  16. It's a 101 XTR lightweight, 28" barrels, fixed choke 1/4 and 1/2.Hope the picture works
  17. I've got a cracking little 101 XTR for sale at £750. I purchased it 3/4 years ago after looking at various options as previously mentioned on this thread. Very good guns for the money imo
  18. Hi all, recently purchased a Winchester Super grade which has just has the stock refinished. I've noticed that after a bit of use the oil on the forend is starting to wear off and has left two lighter patches. There is also a few water marks. Any advice regarding what oil to use and any good methods will be greatly received! The stock at the moment is quite light in colour and smells like it's been treated with linseed oil. Thanks in advance
  19. I'm in Somerset Kindest regards
  20. Ive not got a Yildiz but I've got a Winchester 101 XTR lightweight which would be ideal for a junior. Nice and light at 7lb, 14 1/4" lop so not massively long.
