  1. ****'s Sporting Goods, a medium sized outlet had Remington target shells on sale. reg. $7.99US a box (25 count) on sale for $3.98 a box. I've shot these before and they perform well for me. I bought ALL they had....30 cases of them. 7500 shells. This cuts my clay shooting expenses by 50%. I have NEVER seen prices this low...EVER. Oh, Happy Days
  2. It's made from carbon fiber, not plastic. But I do understand the attitude about it. I'll agree that wood furniture looks much better, but my goal is to reduce weight as much as possible and still retain quality. The Beretta is a good example of a fine wood finish and quality. But at $3700 US, too much $ for me.
  3. I was using my Remington 870 pump. This is a public range. There aren't any boxes or stands from which to throw clays. There isn't any score keeping unless you decide you want to and do it yourself. The range and people are very relaxed and it's a fun atmosphere but yet extremely safe and well conducted. It's not uncommon at all to shoot someone elses clay that was winged (partially hit) or missed alltogether and then shoot at it yourself. But this is after you've met up and gotten to know each other. No one would just outright do this, but after meeting the folks and joining with them the friendships begin. We give rounds, clays, borrow guns etc all the time. It's all in good fun. My triple came from 1 clay from an auto thrower straight down range, the 2nd came from a hand thrower that went right to left and the third was a hand thrown missed clay from the shooter next to me that was straight down range but had hit its apex and was dropping fast. There is a local gun club that I've been invited to shoot at. They shoot with newcomers (invities)on Thursday afternoons. This place is well restricted. The have 5 boxes, you keep score and compete with each other.(Trap and Skeet shooting) I've never shot this way yet but plan on doing so soon. The club is expensive to join and you have to be invited to join by at least two other members. They hold competitions from local, regional and national there. I'm sure I'll do OK, but I'll be shooting with some of the best shooters in my area.
  4. Ahhhh, decoys. I get it...thanks.
  5. It's carbon fiber. It does have a unique look to it.
  6. I just placed my order for this. Here's the link forit. http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product...ts_id/411541380 What do you guys think of this?
  7. What's a "Flapper"? What's a "Magnet"? From the US here and some of the language is throwing me off. Thanks.
  8. Shot my first triple today! I shot a double, one hand thrown and the other via auto thrower and the guy next to me had missed his clay so I went ahead and dusted it (shot it clean) as well. What a nice feeling that was. This was at an open (Public) firearm range (shotgun side) where anyone can shoot. ( Not sure how you English guys do it) We basically have "Gun" ranges where you just show up and shoot what you want) I shot over 225 rounds of 12gauge today. I'll wake up tomorrow very sore no doubt.
  9. Thanks. I have so many. Clay pigeon shooting has been my recent addition. It's really fun and I enjoy it a lot. This Thursday I'll be competing in my first competition, skeet and trap. I've been invited to a club from a friend of mine. We'll see how I stand up ( how I perform.)
  10. I shot 225 rounds today. I didn't do well at first. I had forgotten I changed my choke to Full. After I swapped it back to imp. I did great. After swapping the choke, I avg. 90% today. I'm going to regret this Monday am as I feel like I've been kicked by a Horse. I'm getting the Benelli SS. It's a little high ($1700 US) but looks like it's nice. My left arm gets very tired from the weight of the shotgun (Rem 870) and the Benelli weighs MUCH, MUCH less. Although I prefer the pump, the Auto would help with the fatigue factor( I have MS.)
  11. Thank you, it was frustrating. I have many question and I will post them soon. I think the the language differences are a hoot (funny.) And, just so ya'll know, I'm 50% English on my Mothers side, the side that counts..Lol.
  12. Sorry guys, but I'll be leaving your forum. THREE days to get ONE post in? Other posts don't even appear? See ya.
  13. Hello Mates, I'm new here and from across the pond. I woke early only to find my best friend had to cancell our trip to the range today so i went by myself. I had to find some other shooters to join as I brought my Remington 870 to shoot some clays with and I don't have an electric thrower. I found some great guys to shoot with and popped off over 150 rounds. I averaged 95% today, which is good for me. Rem 870, 28"VR mod choke Winchester game rounds 150 rounds fired, 144 clays hit. Here's my shotgun
  14. Of course I do. I have a little of everything in my collection. This one has never even been fired. Oh Happy Days.
