  1. All arrived and ready to go! Thanks for all your help on getting this to me and keeping me informed on the progress etc, much appreciated! Sean
  2. Me too, chances are we probably know each other!? I've been working away a lot since Christmas so haven't had a chance to try any of the other local shoots (weekends are catch up with family time). Things are quietening down over the next couple of weeks so hopefully will start to do the rounds. Which shoots have you tried?
  3. Quite a few of you around me then (I'm in Gayton), do (or should I sat did) any of you shoot at Stoke Park in Stoke Bruerne? I'm originally from Burton Latimer and went to school in Kettering. I'll refrain from making any Corby comments
  4. Last year the fields behind my house were drilled with beans and there were hundreds of pigeons on them. I watched two guys shooting over them on one occasion and they seemed to be doing well. I don't have permission on the land as permissions are already granted, spent many a day watching flocks of them tuck in... Frustrating stuff..
  5. I had a Subaru Impreza RB5 WR (number 320) in 1999, I wish I'd kept this car, one of the few Japanese cars I'd ever consider a future classic, possibly again for the Richard Burns connections. Also had a UK300 (number 64) when they swapped from the "classic" to the "Bug eye" models. Although I gave that to Prodrive and had loads done to it (it was a seriously quick A to B car), for some reason, maybe the fact that it definitely fell on the ugly side of the fence, I don't see it as a classic then, now or future. As for Prius or Smarts being future classics, that's just wrong...
  6. I'm 10-15 minutes from you, I live 5 mins off the A5 from Fosters Booth!
  7. Welcome! Where abouts in Northants are you?
  8. SOLD! Thanks mate, any problems then let me know
  9. I do indeed mean 16GB, 16MB would be a bit rubbish wouldn't it... And to think I'm partner in a software development company.. I'll put today down as a bad day...
  10. Chris thanks for your quick reply to my PM! Sorry for being a tool! Bottle still for sale! So much to learn still......
  11. I have an iPhone 3GS 16GB for sale, thought I'd put it on here before sticking it on the bay just in case anyone is interested. It's been in a case since I've had it (which is included), very few marks, no cracks in fact I'd say it's almost mint. Works perfectly, never damaged or repaired. Comes in original box with charger and a brand new set of earphones. Just upgraded to a 4 so this isn't being used. Was on Orange, but don't believe it is network locked. Also comes with a large music library (I hope you like Metallica ), this can be easily deleted of course! Looking for £250 ovno. Postage included in price. PM for details etc
  12. I hit myself in the right knee with a power sander a couple of years ago (one of the rotating blade type).. It was those few seconds of "did that actually hit me" to hitting the floor with a clear "oh hell yeah" that'll I'll never forget.. After removing what was left of my jeans and about a 1" square of the skin from my knee from around the sander blade I reckon overall I got off lightly. Nice little scar as a reminder of how stupid I can be, and also to leave DIY involving power tools to someone else.
  13. I used a set of Bisley defenders for a good few years but swapped to the Peltor ones last year. The Bisley were fine, cheaper than the Peltor ones, but I think this is reflected in the build quality. I personally found the Bisley suffer a bit more from interference from mobile phones, always a joy on a stand (but you can turn them off of course)... I'd recommend either depending on your budget (there are loads of both on e-bay at varying prices).
  14. My wife was called up about 5 years ago as an almost exact match for a patient in Italy. She had to spend a couple of days in London whilst the marrow harvest was taken from her pelvis bone (I believe!), she was uncomfortable for a few weeks afterwards but that is a small price to pay for potentially saving someones life. We were not allowed to make direct contact with the patient, however the Trust did keep us informed of their progress. I hope this thread makes others sign up for this amazing cause!
  15. Originally posted on the 6th of February, the following are still for sale. 12 Bore AYA SBS Box Lock Ejector (S/N 395900), pretty good overall condition, 28" barrels, could do with a good clean, according to my choke gauge they're 1/2 and Cylinder. Barrels are good internally with very minor marks. Stock has a small thumbnail size repair (chip not crack). Only after £150 ono. SOLD Very nice 12 Bore AYA SBS Side Lock Ejector (S/N 441686), nice scroll engraving, Blueing at about 70%, 26" Barrels, few marks on stock, very minor marks inside barrels, again could do with a clean. I've put about 100 carts through this on roost shoots for which I think it's ideal! Chokes very open at Cylinder/Cylinder. After £650 ono for this nice light side lock. Midland Gun Co 12 bore box lock non ejector 28" barrels 14 1/2" semi pistol grip S/N 28950, lovely condition. This belongs to my old man but is currently on my certificate; he would like about £150. SOLD For (more, better) pictures or questions on the above PM me and I will get back to you as soon as I can! Face to Face preferred; I live between Northampton and Towcester, work in Warwick, Basingstoke and occasionally Derby and all my family are Kettering way so happy to meet around any of these locations! May also consider RFD transfer at buyers cost. Update 7th March: I would be willing to part exchange (cash either way) the AYA Sidelock for a perfect condition PCP air rifle i.e. AA S410, HW100 or BSA R10, must include, scope, divers bottle and moderator, .177 preferred but will discuss .22 options.
  16. Thanks for the advice everyone, I've just ordered a Fenn Trap and borrowed an air rifle so I'll see how I get on this weekend (my wife is away which makes shooting (safely into the ground duly noted) from the house a little easier!). I'll let you know how I get on!
  17. I live next to the village allotments (which back onto open fields), and in my garden I have a large chicken run. No surprises really but I am getting rats coming into the chicken run through a dry stone wall that borders my property. Poisoning and shooting aren't really options due to proximity to house and other animals (dogs, cats etc). I have got two different sorts of "old school" spring traps, last night from the house I watched the mother of all rats wander around the chicken run completely ignoring them (baited with peanut butter).. Has anyone got any advice on how these should be placed/baited, or can recommend any effective rat traps? Much appreciated!
  18. All Side by Sides still for sale, open to having a deal on them (all prices quoted on original mail!). Have a plenty of pics for those interested. Also, would consider part exchange and cash either way for an AA S410 in .177, with fill bottle etc
  19. I have a full set of Disco 3 rubber mats (used, but pressure washed so not too shabby!) including the rubber boot liner sat in my garage doing nothing. Another thread on Discos just reminded me! £50 for the lot (front, rear and boot). Genuine LR parts. Located near Northampton, I work in Warwick, Basingstoke and very occasionally Derby and have family in Kettering so happy to meet up anywhere near/between these places. I'm not going to post these as they're far too bulky/heavy to make it worthwhile. PM for contact/more details etc. Cheers!
  20. I'd totally agree with the posts that having a D3 or D4 is all the car you'll need. I've just run a D3 for 3 years and the only fault was with the EGR valves (common problem apparently, sorted under warranty during service), other than that it was faultless, and it went anywhere (it was fitted with Goodyear MTRs, noisy!). Interior was saved by the addition of a full set of rubber mats. I now have a D4 which is simply brilliant and already stinks of wet dog and is full of kid related debris. I just cannot see myself being without one of these cars, ever!
  21. Hi all, I've been thinking about thinning the contents of my cabinet for some time; I've just been invited to join a syndicate for next season (finally! happy days!) and this has prompted me to get on with it, with the view of buying a good quality game gun. So what I have going: 12 Bore AYA SBS Box Lock Ejector (S/N 395900), pretty good overall condition, 28" barrels, could do with a good clean, according to my choke gauge they're 1/2 and Cylinder. Barrels very good internally. After £150 ono. Very nice 12 Bore AYA SBS Side Lock Ejector (S/N 441686), nice scroll engraving, Blueing at about 70%, 26" Barrels, few marks on stock, minor pitting in barrels, again could do with a clean. I've put about 100 carts through this on roost shoots for which I think it's ideal! Chokes very open at Cylinder/Cylinder. After £650 ovno for this nice light side lock. 12 Bore Breda B4 BLE (S/N 57489). Gun has been used and has nicks and marks on stock accordingly. Very basic (i.e not high quality!) engraving showing Labs, Pheasants and Ducks. Barrels OK with some minor pitting, again could benefit from a good clean. Cheap double trigger O/U at £100 ono. Choked 1/2 and 3/4. SOLD Belgian folding .410 single barrel hammer gun (S/N 438). Barrels need a thorough clean out but overall the gun is in OK condition. Bought this for my 8 year old son to learn the ropes, but have never fired it. Only want £50 ovno for this. SOLD For pictures or questions on the above PM me and I will get back to you as soon as I can! Face to Face only please; I live between Northampton and Towcester, work in Warwick, Basingstoke and occasionally Derby and all my family are Kettering way so happy to meet around any of these locations! Also, my old man has: Midland Gun Co 12 bore box lock non ejector 28" barrels 14 1/2" semi pistol grip S/N 28950 he would like about £150. This is located near Kettering, but I can sort out sale if anyone is interested. NOTE: This gun is now on my certificate for anyone interested! Cheers all!
