  1. But Phil said in the latest issue of Pull that most people were in favour of it and he had only had 20 people contact him against the proposal. Thought that was a bit fishy, as 3 people on this forum alone had said they had contacted the CPSA about it. Please let common sense prevail on this.
  2. I bought my chokes from the US and they were 1/2 the price of the same chokes avaialable here in the UK through their distributor. Been using Skeet and Improved Cylinder. /Mad
  3. Better still, order me some shooting lessons. :-)
  4. Just bought two Mk4 Fenn Traps of that popular online Tat bazaar we all know and love. Hoping to control the rat population around our chicken house. /Mad
  5. I agree, and this is why I make sure I always shoot really badly and stay in C class.
  6. Start by asking at the local shooting estates and see if you can go beating. You could also try the The National Organisation of Beaters and Pickers Up (Nobs) at http://www.nobs.org.uk/ After two to three years of being a regular, reliable beater, i.e. I save my work holiday days so I can beat on every shoot day at our estate. Then take the keeper aside and ask him if you could shoot on the land, but don't do this mid shoot or he might be a little reluctant to answer if he is stressed. Check the colour of his face to see if he is relaxed or not. If red, stay away! I did this, and built him a new PC (old one from work) and got permission to shoot a small area near my house. A year later this has been extended and I now have ferreting rights on the whole estate. A long and slow process, but completely understandable. He didn't know me from Adam to start with, and even after three beating seasons, he still didn't know if I was a safe shot. I had to earn my rights and it takes time. Good luck! /Mad
  7. Oi and Oi again. No, I'm a bloke, father of 3. Hard working, just keep fit without going to the gym or anything poncy like that!
  8. Oi. I is not gay. Just eat well, exercise (lots of shooting) and don't drink. :-) /mad
  9. Not more from the Flash family?? Welcome! /mad
  10. heh, not a plumber. I needed a welder and fell in love with this one. I love old gear! @ Tony9r: I used to use a plasma cutter and it ranks as my all time most favourite tool. It beats chainsaws, nail guns, you name it anything for being one hell of a cool tool. I used to do welding at a sculpture Workshop and they had a cutter there. Still remember firing up the compressor first, and that was a huge beast of a machine. A good 5 feet long. Then cutting through sheet like it was butter with that wicked green light, the hiss and the smell. mmmh! /Mad
  11. Ok, I want the expectant mother to have the best treatment possible. She is to live indoors from now on, perhaps on your bed. No more cold drafty cages. I want her fed on the finest organic Aberdeen Angus beef. No butcher offcuts. Water, again, the finest bottled spring water available. Got to make sure those kits are really healthy
  12. yeah, that is cause they are always ejecting out their planes!
  13. ahh, but I did say pest or predator. As to some the pigeon eating their crop is just as damaging as a fox eating someone elses birds.
  14. You are so right, lets add Ramblers & Dog owners to the list. So far we have 1) Foxes 2) Corvids 3) Ramblers/Dog walkers/Trespassers
  15. Following the great trend for Top 100 count down programmes... I am interested as to what people feel are the worst and most damaging pest or predator species for a farm or shooting estate. What would you say are the top 10 worst pests and in what order? Would the fox come first or what about the mink. How high to squirrels rank and what about Jays, rabbits, pigeons, magpies and crows? Take into count their prevalence, damage done to crops/young birds etc. Be interesting to see what the general consensus is. thanks, /Mad
  16. No, I'm fine thanks (typing from my hospital bed) :-) I also have an oxy set with full sized bottles on a trolley, far too blooming heavy as I can hardly move it. need to try and sell it and get a smaller one.
  17. The one I have is great for fine metal work. If you don't mind huge holes in your work. Is an old Bantum oil filled arc welder. Weighs a ton, but great for heavy duty work /mad
  18. aha! I read that wrong. Thanks for picking up on that. Shame, I was going to test my 7000 ft/lb rifle I have in my cupboard <doh> /mad
  19. But it has a range of 30/fps. to 7000/fps so no good for checking you are on the right side of the law with an air rifle? /mad
  20. Excellent, give me a shout (mobile number in pm) and I will come over. Clay shooting Saturday morning, apart from that, doing nothing apart from fencing. /mad
  21. The chicken water hopper will need to be secure so they don't tip it over or pull it apart. The tank and feeder bowl are only held together by three tabs over the ring at the base of the tank. Comes off easily when carrying down the garden to the chicken run, usually in winter and always down my $"***!! trousers. The main thing to remember with any flooring is to seal any gaps so yuck can't get in and cause disease. When I finally get to make our court, am planning on a concrete base and the walls made of shuttering liberally coated with Marine varnish. /Mad
