I have 2 Yeomans one is true and improved but barrels are badly pitted due to being stored in a damp location 25 years ago the other is 1/2 and full. I want to be able to use the high performance steel as the standard stuff lacks range so my thinking is the high performance will increase range.

personally i wouldn't put any steel through either of these by the sounds of them

have a look at a local dealer when you are able, they will be able to advise you and most of them will have several double trigger non ejector side by sides they would love to get rid of if that's what you are used to.

I wouldn't get too caught up about high performance steel unless you plan to get a lot of wildfowling on the go , as long as its nitro and still in proof you will find something around your budget that will keep you shooting for years to com.

    Good luck monster

  2. i have a yildiz 28 bore as well and i have had the same problem but its not because it needs a clean as it has only had 75 carts through it from new , the reset for the second barrel has nothing to do with recoil as such , first check that he is releasing the trigger properly between shots before you take it apart as this can affect it (try firing then purposely let go and fire again to check) . The grease that yildiz use is not great though so it may need a degrease and put a good quality lubricant back in.

as with most turkish guns they are great value but may not be particularly well finished mechanically , some burring on the internal mechanicals could be smoothed out a bit better but then the cost would probably go up if they actually had a smith go over them before they went out.

    all the best monster

..nothing new there then,I`m sure BASC will be onto Lancs Constabulary like a ton of cotton wool!

It`s a shame for Empire as it`ll be stopping a lot of people from trying their product, which looks good. They`ll have to try and get them into a few dealers around the regions .

their product does look good and we spoke to empire cartridges about stocking their product , the problem was the cost to us was too high , there is not much markup on carts as a supplier and we would have to sell basic 30g 6s for more than most pigeon/ clay shooters are willing to pay. not many clay / pigeon shooters want to pay more than £50 to £55 a slab and our trade price was higher than that.

who is going to pay £65 for empire when we can offer gamebore at £52 with the same profit margin on both

we would loved to have stocked them but it was not financially viable

wish them all the luck but they will struggle to get into retailers on their current pricing structure

unfortunately shooters will pay anything up to £100 a slab if they are shooting pheasants but pigeons are not worth those prices apparently

  4. i assume you dont have a local retailer that you could have supported rather than going to amazon, i am sure you would have had a better service

treesco [ suppliers of percussion] have a policy of retailers discretion for replacements and we have had very few complaints on their range

I could tell you a story about that car, the lane where father had stopped and my sister, but you probably won't understand that either. I reckon that one of us is too old or the other too young.

A couple of clues: The Humber was a well known make of motor car and the Hawk a particular model. Cogswell and Harrison made shotguns and the Avant Tout was a model at the the top of their range. You would not have seen the shotgun if you approached the driver's door to get in in a bit of a hurry to move the car.

    I hope that helps.

    😂😂 oh i see

    i am being thick

    still dont get the father and sister bit {hopefully means i am too young}

not normal practice for me but no need to move quickly and the photo was part of a batch set up for promotional reasons and there is another vehicle set up the same way in the other photos facing mine.

catch the point though i have seen a couple of guns squished that way

    Nice one. :good:

Mind you, Father did that. Then suddenly had to move the Humber to give room for a truck-full of Royal Marines. Unfortunately, the Hawk was right-hand drive. The Harrison bit survived, but sadly not the Gogswell half.

am i missing something , i dont understand a word of it

You will certainly stand out from the crowd!
Is it to promote the business logo on the side? Should work well.

as much as i would love to elaborate on your second comment, it is a new venture and we are still awaiting some essential certificates to arrive before we hit it hard , as i am not yet a trade member on here i will have to leave it at that until said certs arrive and we can apply for trade membership.

dont want to get in trouble😁
