  1. Hi All, Not sure if this is the right section but am looking for a new lab pup. Preferably a small black female as a pet and gundog (mostly pigeon, rough shooting and perhaps some wildfowling). Does anyone know of any litters in the Herts/Bucks area? Cheers, Stuart
  2. Hi all, just wondering if any one knows of pigeon/rough shooting, boundary days etc available in the Exmoor area. Heading down there for a few days in October and would love to get some shooting in. Cheers, Stuart
  3. bought this one a while back and seems pretty spot on, good build quality, easy to use and clear/crisp reception http://www.force4.co.uk/5150/Cobra--HH325-Waterproof-VHF-Handheld-Radio.html ATB, Stuart
  4. Hi all and apologies if i'm about to open a can of worms on the forum... Lost my springer Archie about a year ago, he was a rescue dog and a really fantastic pet (albeit incredibly stubborn when he wanted to be!). Unfortunately i never got to shoot with him as he developed a disease which caused muscle wastage around his eyes and jaw (really horrible to see but a few months of care got him back to a good quality of life although never quite 100%). I've been looking at getting a new dog that can become more of a shooting companion for me and my brother, as well as a family pet who'll get on with the other dogs (2 very soppy Alsations and a jack russellXchihuaha - all bitches). Realistically i need a dog that will sit in a hide with us, come out rough shooting and still be good as a pet. So the big question is what breed is best?! As for age, training progress, male/female, trainability etc etc i'm all ears... I've done a lot of research but figured PW was a good way of seeing what other people have had. I have not trained a dog to working level before (although i am reading the book!) Any help much appreciated, Stuart
  5. Hi all, Just wanted to say thanks to Bakerboy for taking my brother and I out on Sunday. We both had a really great day and learnt a lot about pigeon shooting (despite the high winds!!). Thanks again Terry, hope to shoot with you again at some point. cheers, stuart
  6. Thanks very much for the suggestions guys. Really helpful and much apperciated! ATB Stuart
  7. Hi all, New to the sport and really looking for some ideas on what sort of gun i should be looking to buy and the PW forums seem full of good advice. Don't want to spend over £1k (Max!) and have been looking at the Lincoln Premier, Rizzini sideplated, Pointer 612 and the Betinsolli Diamond. Hoping for something that can be used as a real all rounder, clays, pigeons and maybe even a bit of rough shooting (if i'm lucky enough to find some permissions!). Any help will be greeatly appreciated. ATB Stuart
