  1. Whereas I hope it is....... make it compulsory then hopefully people don’t bring it back and vice versa don’t take it with them in the first place.
  2. You could look to the USA figures a while back were 15m cases and 260k dead. Multiply that by 4 and you nearly have our little island. Not saying it’s going to happen but it’s why it is being taken seriously and at the moment it seems like you are hearing of more and more cases closer to home.

    Port Delays

I can’t see many drivers coming over knowing they can’t get home though!

    Port Delays

Well it may actually be time to panic but. The first time all freight has been stopped going through the tunnel since this kicked off...... the queues have been immense for weeks due to brexit and now a total closure will see what stocks we have in the UK
  5. My father in law had the first one yesterday, no sign of any problems or side effects so by mid January we will be less worried about bringing it home

    Anyone know?

My brothers business had an outbreak of 7 cases, basically all the reception staff went down with it. They believe it was sharing a phone handset despite wiping down etc in between as masks were on and everything else possible done. we have a similar setup at work as you do we try and keep office and warehouse apart. Distancing as much as possible and drivers wearing masks for delivery. The warehouse being well ventilated we don’t ask them to mask but that is probably as we haven’t had a case yet.
  7. We’re buying a house at the moment from the estate of a 74 year old who died of covid, through work we know a few more who have died. Similar ages but no one younger. My brother has it at the moment along with 6 of his colleagues. Apparently from his experience it isn’t to be recommended but hopefully he is out the other side now.
  8. Mine are only 7 and 4 and we did really well during lockdown 1. The 7 year old by structuring things and 1 to 1 we did really well. However I was furloughed so had the time. It was apparent when she went back that many parents had done nothing at all. While I see both sides it’s a common thing now how little parents expect to do
  9. Is everything else closed though...... I know the industry I am in is thriving despite operating in a “Covid safe” way and the roads seem far from quiet in the mornings. The last lockdown it was deathly, this one seems certain industries are closed but most are carrying on pretty much like usual
  10. Just over a week with Herts from posting to landing on the doorstep. Feo working from home and the longest bit was getting the doctors report they now have as compulsory.
  11. I’ve driven a similar distance in my current l200 so far fuel is approx £5k servicing is £750 and road tax is about the same no tyres needed. If you factor in the fact you need a defender as well you may well be paying more...... that and I’m not sure how your Tesla would cope with a trip to Cornwall with a 1500kg caravan on the back or shall we say how many charges it would need.
  12. Commercial vehicle. Ours lets you have 12 visits a year. Personally I find a pickup perfect for commuting and leisure use. The new ones are great to drive reasonably economical and the dogs stay in the back!
  13. Most of the newer manual pickups will do a bit over 30mpg. I’ve done 25k in my newest l00 and kept a record and that is averaging 32mpg over that mileage. That includes probably 3k with a caravan on the back and a fair bit off road while shooting
  14. And 20 days early as well, the guy was really pleasant and guess it was a simple renewal so box ticking exercise. Had to get the doctors form done but that was the only bit that took the time at my end. Once I had it and submitted the application I couldn’t believe how quick it came through
  15. I’ve just done my renewal with Herts and have to say 7 days from posting to dropping on the doorstep so top service
  16. 2 months can be a long time with a commercial vehicle, mine would do 5-10k miles in that time which is easily enough time for a problem to occur. With that if you only recently noticed the clunking it may have happened faster than you think. As for choice of garage pounds talk but also how quick they are to get things booked in is a major factor. Our main dealer even with breakdowns I can be a week or more which is useless.
  17. Assuming you reported the theft it will be no problem driving it to be fixed. It’s a common theft and I reckon you would only get sympathy if you were pulled over. The only thing to check is none of the existing exhaust can drop and get caught on the ground when you are driving
  18. Herts police have actually made progress on some local thefts! Funny they seized caravans at the same time....... https://www.hertsad.co.uk/news/three-people-arrested-in-connection-with-dog-thefts-1-6873788
  19. Certainly for most of us she doesn’t have much part in setting rules. I’d like to think most mp’s would not follow her lead or think it’s acceptable. As said if I went into work in a similar state I would expect to loose my job. The fact she hasn’t resigned suggests she has a really odd idea that this isn’t that bad. Whereas I think she should have 6 months inside once clear to re consider if it was a good idea
  20. I think it might be interesting the police response on this one. The facts being she shouldn’t have taken public transport when suspecting she had caught it and definitely not when confirmed. Potentially she could kill people by having done this and perhaps it should be treated severely. One thing is for sure she won’t last as an mp

    hare coursing

I don’t like to say fortunately but he was shot in the chest with a stone from a catapult, that’s when the police start reacting. We have them regularly and it’s only when they do something like this that the police really act
  22. Supposedly on a usual year 500k people per day at this time Of year have symptoms... at that point it’s some feat to test apart from the obvious cost. From what I gather about 1% are testing positive. You would have thought by now you would be able to work out cold or corona virus to a slightly better level than this
  23. Surely you can appoint a surveyor yourself, sounds like the bank are hedging their bets and think you are buying the whole block!
  24. If it has made it to Paris then it should be fast from there on. There are no customs and checks on the parcel should have been done in the origin country. Many of the carriers are working with massive volumes at the moment so that’s more likely to be the cause of the delay than anything else
  25. Never heard of that issue. We’ve a 2014 2.2 diesel and is a pretty reasonable car. Only issues have been sorted on recall all in all pretty economical and pretty refined and nippy. Does 45mpg on usual runs
