  1. It’s next to Kings Lynn. Plenty for them to get on with sorting that place out!
  2. A bit out of date........railways were privatised in 1994.
  3. Watched them all today, excellent.
  4. Well worth the upgrade, I went from an air 2 to one of these before Christmas. Love it!
  5. Been through something very similar recently but mine was a change in contract. I stuck to my guns and stated I don’t want the change. They offered me a very tidy amount of tax free cash for them the end the contract. I signed the settlement contract on the Friday, and signed my new contract with a new company the Monday after. They had taken 2 months to negotiate with me which allowed me time to find a new job. Seemless employment, a boot full of cash, and a much better job. You never know, you might get offered enough to tie you over your final year, and be able to retire early.
  6. I never drain fuel. If the diaphragm in the carb dries out it won’t start when you need it next year. I used to fly petrol engines in models, and the advice is never let them dry out.
  7. I can usually be found on a steam engine, or a Traction engine.
  8. I was lucky enough to get a trip around the TT course in one of the safety cars a couple of years ago. We picked up William on the way round the circuit, he gave us a fantastic commentary for the rest of the lap. Nice guy and gone far to early. One thing though, he knew the risks and he died doing what he loves, just a shame he leaves his family.
  9. Not the original question, but today marks the 80th Anniversary of Mallard passing the 120mph mark in 1938.
  10. We rented from Calcutt 3yrs ago, took the family, 4 kids and a dog. Good clean boats. We headed down the south Oxford and managed to get to Banbury in a week. It’s a good route with a good mix of leisurely cruising and locks. Locks are fine now having had a good tidy up. Pubs are spaced apart, so if you’re cunning you can have lunch in one then move to another for the evening. Avoid Copredy when the festival is on, we got caught out on the way back, the place was rammed, with a heavy fog of illegal substances in the air. Top pub enroute, The Wharf Inn at Fenny Compton, it’s where I met my wife about 16yrs before! Also a good point to fill water and re stock from the small shop. The most important thing is to relax and enjoy!
  11. Keep away from Falaraki unless you want constant headaches! Lindos is lovely. I’ve not been for 20 odd years, but enjoyed the roof terrace restaurants in Lindos.
  12. They have a uk warehouse and ship from it!
  13. Servos should be able to move when powered off, you can test for notches in the gearing that way. If it’s not moving at all when power is off then I expect a seized servo (unless it’s a sail winch servo which needs RC and power to move it.. 27mhz is very old now and relies on Chrystal technology. I would recommend upgrading to a cheap 4 channel system, look at hobbyking for options and look at 2.4ghz which doesn’t need Chrystal and is much better for interference. Once you have a reliable connection then test the servos. i used to race 1m yachts, plus years of experience with model aircraft. Steve
  14. You’re a new members with a low post count. My guess is you’ll need to be more active to be able to post any for sale or wanted posts.
  15. No, you certainly do not pay into his new company. If anything is owed to the old company then the receiver will need to be paid anything owed. What he is trying to do is to get you to fund the startup of his new company. Do you know if his old company has debt? If so, he is committing fraud by asking you to settle debt by paying into his new company. I’m sure his receivers will be very interested to hear that he’s doing that if for any reason you let that info slip!
  16. On the flip side, I’ve just sold all my DSLR gear (to Wex!) as I hadn’t used it in over a year. My iPhone does everything I need it to do now. Obviously it can’t do what a telephoto lease will do, but it does a very good job of everything else.

Did your planning officer get it in writing? If so, easy to prove.
  18. I’m selling my Nikon 70-300 telephoto lens, it’s the VR version and fully automatic focus. details below: The AF-S VR 70-300 f/4.5-5.6G IF-ED is a high-performance super telephoto zoom lens that has been designed to meet the demands of both digital and 35mm format SLR users. It offers a 4.3x zoom with a range of 70-300mm (105-450mm on a DX Nikon D-SLR) and features ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass elements that ensure superior optical performance. This lens incorporates Nikon’s second-generation vibration reduction system (VR II) that allows flexible hand-held shooting by stabilizing the image to the equivalent extent of using a shutter speed that is four stops faster when compared with a conventional lens (as determined by Nikon performance test). The SWM (Silent Wave Motor) and IF (Internal Focusing) ensure fast and quiet focusing action, and the nine-blade rounded diaphragm makes out-of-focus elements blend smoothly to produce natural-looking, harmonious backgrounds. £200 + P&P (£7)
  19. This is a good example to show the speed differences. I’ve always found 5ghz much faster than 2.4 and that’s down to the available bandwidth for that frequency. https://support.stuff-fibre.co.nz/hc/en-us/articles/226438147-What-is-the-difference-between-2-4-GHz-and-5-GHz-
  20. Look for a second hand IPad Air. Had mine since they came out and still works perfectly. Dual band, so you can use the 5ghz Wi-fi for faster speeds. Also worth waiting for the new iOS 11.3 where they will stop throttling the iPad, and get the battery upgraded. You’ll regret moving to Android if you’re used to Apple reliability!!
  21. You don’t need any apps to get the photos to your PC. connect the phone via the charge lead. Allow the PC to download the drivers (this is the important part) it’ll make a noise when completed, once this is complete just go to my computer and find the phone within the folders, it’ll be set as storage device. Click into the file and there will be another folder (think it’s DMIC or something like that) all your photos will be there. ive had issues with a broken charge lead before, make sure your lead is in good order. But with 5 iPhones in my household this is the only way I’ve backed up my pictures on the hard drive of my PC.

  23. Brilliant company to deal with. Had excellent service over many years.
  24. They are excellent cameras, and that is an excellent photo (yes, I can see it) I’m used to Nikon cameras, but since the phone cameras are getting better and better, my Nikon gets left at home now. Far more convenient using the phone that’s already in my pocket. Looking forward to my IPhone X with the same camera arriving in a couple of weeks! Looking forward to the 4K videos I will be able to do.
