  1. I had a Barbour Solway coat years and years ago as they and Belstaff were the only things available. I suppose I had it for about 10-12 years. for the last 3-4 years of its life it was consigned to use when out ferreting, as the material had started to wear thin around the flex creases and abrasion points. How have you managed to get yours to last 25 years
  2. Al4x Seeing as Gary's 308 is only zeroed for 100m IIRC take him up on the challenge but stick the targets up at 280m to 350m plus or minus the odd cm. The money would be virtually in your pocket before a trigger was pulled.
  3. Absolutely. It also gives you the opportunity to go heavier and long if tats what floats your boat . You'd struggle to do that with a 1:12
  4. Time to go and do what must be done. I'll leave you ponder the folly of your words, deeds and attitudes.
  5. Someone's simple but it sure ain't me Dazza.
  6. My apologise. A simple mistake given your priors.
  7. Al4x Richie don't think full stop!
  8. [Rasher the anti have you nothing better to do with your time? Surely you would serve the LACS better if you where out monitoring a hunt or snuffling around for Larsen traps?} Yet another couple of own goals there Ritchie. You lack of knowledge and experience in all thing country sports wise showing thru yet again. Monitoring hunts in this weather? Larsen traps out at this time of year? Oh please, do yourself and the rest of us a favour. Think before you decide to post. There are only so many times you can put your foot in your mouth before the novelty begins to wear off. Even you must realise that simple truth. What are we down to depth wise on that hole you keep insisting on digging, 12-14 feet?
  9. Unfortunately in this regard the bad element out weigh the good to such an extent that even the most reasonable and tolerant of people have questioned the legitimacy of the use of long dogs and have by and large decided that they no longer want to have any association with those that use them. There are of course exceptions to every rule. Its just the exceptions seem to get few year on year. The examples used in my post are just the tip of the rotten iceberg.
  10. You only have to compare the 2 side by side to see where Beretta got their production cost savings from. Why do you think people are clamouring for the older Tikka and Sako actions for semi custom build rifle projects and yet by and large ignoring the numerous second hand T3's that fill gunshop shelves up and down the country and in the USA? How many BR and F class shooters choose a T3, how many choose a Savage? http://www.savagearms.com/news/article/?id=1DoKxAoZh Team Savage Wraps Up Long-Range Season in Dominant Fashion Team Savage Takes National Title, Breaks 1,000-yard Record http://www.savagearms.com/news/article/?id=2K5nTzegQ
  11. They must be living in a different world in Cambridgeshire then! Cambridge News Published: 10/11/2010 10:06 - Updated: 11/11/2010 08:50 "Sharp spike in poaching prompts police plea Raymond Brown A sharp increase in hare coursing and night poaching has triggered a plea from police to members of the public. Officers in Cambridgeshire have seen an increase in the number of incidents across the county over recent weeks and are appealing for help to catch those responsible. The Rural Community Action Team has reported 47 people for court summons and seized six vehicles since September. There has also been an increase in night poaching over the past few weeks. And there were 10 incidents reported over the weekend. Sgt Jo Reeves said: “There has been an increase this year in the number of offences which are often in remote locations. “Night poaching is also on the increase with offenders trespassing on land and using dogs or guns to kill the animals." http://www.cambridge-news.co.uk/Home/Sharp-spike-in-poaching-prompts-police-plea.htm How about Lincolnshire "Deer poachers in Lincolnshire are using specially-bred dogs to hunt with increasing frequency, police claim." http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/lincolnshire/8278066.stm "Taking poaching seriously Poaching is a serious problem in parts of East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, Inside Out joins Humberside Police as they crack down on the gangs who take dogs into the countryside in search of foxes, hares, deer and even badgers. South of the River Humber just outside Goxhill, the helicopter crew see a group of five men who watch as their dogs chase and then tear apart a badger." http://www.bbc.co.uk/insideout/content/articles/2008/10/13/yorks_lincs_s14_w5_poaching_feature.shtml BBC video footage http://www.bbc.co.uk/mediaselector/check/england/realmedia/insideout/westyorkshire/081015_io_yorks_poaching?size=16x9&bgc=C0C0C0&nbram=1&bbram=1&nbwm=1&bbwm=1 "The farmers and gamekeepers complain that the poachers are aggressive, and that they trash crops, damage vehicles and steal farm equipment and tools. PC Nigel Lound says "Poaching is a huge problem for people in the countryside and the people who do it are villains, they don't care about damaging property and they don't care about trashing crops." All this lot must be different from the those many running dog owners that you know.
