Hi Piebob, Yes makes perfect sense and someone else has raised the same point. I have spoken to 5 accountants (both large firms and independents) all who say that taking a salary of £5k is acceptable in terms of law and it is just making the most of the boundaries and not stepping over them. However some seem to be in favour of taking more dividends and some in favour of a higher normal salary which leaves me none the wiser! They all seem to have done different calculations as well when demonstrating the savings which is a real worry

Trying to work out the most cost effective way of running a ltd company. Take a salary of £5,000 and the rest in dividend or pay a higher salary and less in dividend. Without going into detail I know this will be a tricky one but just wanted to get opinions. . .

Just got back from pulling up my new pot. Left it down from 10pm last night for a 12 hour dip from the rocks at my local beach. First time I have tried for lobster and did not expect to get much but pulled up a nice lobster, a couple of crabs and a dozen large prawns.

Had a great day out yesterday, a strong wind kept the birds low and they were decoying a treat. Had them coming in from all angles which made for great shooting. We ending up with around 50 birds - I wont mention the cart to bird ratio Me (left), Harris & my bother with Birds Birds Decoys Birds on Surrounding Fields

Go over your contract in detail. If there is no mention of this in it then you do not have to accept to it. If you are made to feel awkward by refusing to then this is ground for harassment. If you think you can live with it then you should definitely ask for an increase in salary to compensate for the time/ stress you are going to have to put up with. Do not under any circumstances be forced into signing anything in front of your boss. Always take contracts home to consider and get legal advice if needs be.
